Nya Bunton is going to be a real problem at Texas! Found a video from her tournament last week and the hit at 4:34 is just a swing of beauty 🤘🏽 She move so quickly and effortlessly. I think of the recruits were bringing in in 2023 she’s one of the underrated ones. I'm gonna have to disagree Jordyn Byrd is probably the most underrated in her class. Nya is ranked in the top 10. Jordyn is in the Top 25. |

I agree jordyn is so underrated It's hard to believe that a player rated in the Top 25 is underrated. It was a comparison to saying Nya Bunton is the more underrated. I do believe Jordyn is at least top 15 recruit. |

I agree jordyn is so underrated It's hard to believe that a player rated in the Top 25 is underrated. Underrated in the sense that Jordyn is easily a top 10 player. May be a bit premature but oh well, Jordyn has national player of the year potential. |

Anyways, with a class with Helmers, Swindle, Byrd, and Bunton...AND TOMKINSON, our recruiting did some work. That's STELLAR. We still are #2 recruiting class according to PrepVB. I like Volleyball Magazine's analysis more. |

It's been my opinion that volleyball fans assign way too much differential between ranking spots. People assign way too much importance in every recruiting ranking list, regardless of sport. To me it’s only value is to prevent power creep. If forced to rank players 1 through whatever, they can’t just rank everyone towards the top end of the bell curve, which is what would tend to happen if they didn’t rank them numerically. Outside of that, I don’t really care about recruiting rankings all that much. They drive discussion, and that’s good. As long as they’re towards the top in the aggregate, that’s all that matters to me. And of course there will always be plenty of players that are evaluated poorly, too. Too many factors involved. But the fact is the programs that recruit the best tend to be the most competitive, so it’s naive when people say they don’t matter at all. |
