Some of the comments by Nebraska fans on social media bashing a high schooler is really telling. She made a decision that was best for her and doesn’t have to leave the state while doing. Specifically Nebraska fans accusing her of leaving due to NIL…Do they think she wasn’t going to get any there? and probably more with their amazing support! No one is accusing her of leaving due to NIL or sholarship... If anything it's because of the competition in the middles. Unless there is an unknown injury or transfer out with Texas that’s laughable.

Texas fans do the same thing on social media. It’s what makes following recruiting with any passion weird. The level of affirmation and validation we get from a teenager choosing our favorite school, and alternatively the anger and bitterness that sometimes comes out when we feel scorned is not healthy. But I have many of the same feelings. I don’t think it’s admirable, but I find it very understandable.

People that angrily comment on a high schooler’s post are weirdos. This is simply the result of recruiting at the highest level. There will be a logjam at Nebraska in 2024 and 2025 and Ames chose to stay closer to home. In 2024, Allick and Jackson will be more established than Bunton and Singletary.

Ames has a good amount of highlight videos on youtube, easy to find if anyone’s interested.
Her fluidity on the slide is a thing of beauty. She moves so well for her height laterally and is very smooth towards the pins. Great footwork and closing speed. MBU reloading once again.

She can always play at Texas for a couple of years, and then transfer to Nebraska, if there is an opening.

From what I could tell from her social, she's not playing club in the spring. So, it means that she'll be a spring enrolee.

She can always play at Texas for a couple of years, and then transfer to Nebraska, if there is an opening. Or USC, TCU, Michigan State, North Carolina State, Georgia Tech. We have former Longhorns starting all over the country. I root for the success of every one of them.

If some of the current players continue to redshirt, we could have EIGHT freshman on the roster next year. (4 True freshman, 4 RS Freshman). Almost half of the roster!

It's only a matter of time before 2023 Opposite Caroline Jurevicius decides she doesn't want to sit on the bench one more season watching Merritt Beason play 6-rotations . . . Seriously, I think depth charts everywhere are going to become more and more of a factor, especially when unexpected incoming transfers change the dynamics.

Maybe she saw how successful Asjia was this summer with team USA and said MBU is the place for me.
I have no insider info whatsoever, but I wonder if talking to folks who have recently moved back home to Texas (a la Wenaas and skinner) played any part. Being far from home, regardless how great the opportunity, isn’t always for everyone.

You aren’t but I’ve seen multiple people on IG and Twitter reference NIL exactly. Yes. Texas fans never had ridiculous takes when Sun transferred. Everyone fan base has their idiots with stupid takes. You're just choosing to listen to them.

I wasn’t on here as much at that time but I would have the same opinion when anyone bashes a student athlete for transferring/flipping whether it’s to/from Texas.

You said it was "telling" that there were Nebraska fans bashing her on SM. What exactly was it "telling" of?
