I will say this about the two former Cal starting middles, they are used to hitting less than ideal sets so they should fit like a glove on their new teams.

Forte to Florida. Big loss for the bears. They lost both their middle blockers. Huge. I expect that'll force the younger Grote inside to MB which is disappointing because I think her ceiling at Opposite is much higher. Holy smokes. Both starting middles gone! Any idea why this happened?

Any idea why this happened? COVID waiver extended their eligibility. Both were due to graduate in December and would likely have left anyway. I'm told that Forte initially wasn't sure he'd play her fourth year and Anderson would've completed her eligibility. Now both can join contenders AND get a start on their post grad degrees. It is just unfortunate fur Cal it worked out that way. But it's great for Florida and Baylor & obviously good for both athletes.

If she graduated, it wouldn’t matter. She graduates from Cal in the fall what is she going to study at Florida in grad school? You'd think that someone who graduates early from Berkeley would have a pretty good selection of top graduate programs to choose from.
