So rooting for UCSB to upset Texas. Tired of seeing Texas anywhere near the finals.

After watching them play against Texas State, UCSB is a very solid team and actually has enough offense to score against us unlike Albany. However they dropped a set and showed some inconsistency in the setting department with their 6-2 and benefited from an out of sorts bobcat offense. I like our chances obviously as long as we take care of our side of the net, but I'm expecting the gauchos will come ready tonight.

UCSB was Jekyll and Hyde against Hawaii. In the first match at Santa Barbara, Hawaii took them down, 3-0. UCSB's serve receive was terrible and their ball control was like mid- to low-tier RPI 200s team. In the rematch in Honolulu, UCSB fixed all their problems and took Hawaii to 5, where Hawaii eeked out the victory 17-15.
I want UCSB to win.

I was so VERY impressed with this USCB team. With a better setter I really feel like they would be an elite 8 team. I think they could take out Texas if Texas isn’t careful

I hope Ruddins goes off in this match. Not sure if UCSB will do any damage, but if Ruddins and Froley are clicking, this could be more competitive than I would originally have suspected.

I think this will be a great match!
I do think Froley will not have the match she had yesterday, but who knows!

I want UCSB to win. I've been a huge Lindsey Ruddins fan for a few years. I think she (and Jordan Thompson) have deserved a lot more attention for leading the NCAA D1 in kills and points/set. But this season - now that she has a bit of a spotlight - Ruddins' stats aren't as good, largely bc the team is spreading the offense around more. I think the team is better for it, though. And I now love Zoe Fleck. I really hope UCSB wins. I'm glad more ppl will see them play. (Though I agree with Wolfgang that they can be a bit Jekyll and Hyde.)
But I think Texas will win. I love Butler and Eggleston so that will be ok too. I hope it goes to 5. That would be fun to watch.

So rooting for UCSB to upset Texas. Tired of seeing Texas anywhere near the finals. I'd also like to add Stanford, Nebraska, and Penn State. My wife went to Stanford but she doesn't give a rat's arse about sports so I'm good.

Ruddins is an exceptional player.
Funny thing is that her older sister, who played for USC years back, was ranked #2 in prepvb but Lindsey is getting more recognised and seem to have a better career. I believe Lindsey was ranked within the top 20.
