Will Rasmussen get the start? Or will Hawai'i go with what has been working and sub her in when the time is right?

Random analysis from someone who was watched almost all games by both teams:
Huskers could be in trouble mainly because they don’t pass well and Hawaii is a very strong serving team. They served Washington/UCSB/San Diego off the court and if there serves are on it could be similar to Neb/Wisc where the Huskers are out of system all day and look silly.
Hawaii also has small outsides who are very effective at tooling the block. However I feel like Nebraska’s Blocking is another level from pretty much all of Hawaii’s opponents this season. Stivrins and Sweet will shut a lot of the tool attempts down. In general, Nebraska middles vs Hawaii middles will be a good battle.
I know it’s obvious but it will really come down to serve and pass. Hawaii’s passers also go through bouts of inconsistency.
I think Skylar Fields has NFOY on lockdown but Hellvig and Kubik are both in the conversation and we get to see them head to head.

Regardless, Im happy about to two Titans of the sport, (Fan wise) going at it. Wisconsin has caught up number wise, but that is only as of recently. Hawaii and Nebraska will ALWAYS be the pinacle of a Womens volleyball program when it comes to support and fan bases.
Im hoping for a Wahine win however. GO BOWS

Will Rasmussen get the start? Or will Hawai'i go with what has been working and sub her in when the time is right? Probably what we've seen thus far ( i.e. selective subbing). I'd guess Robin won't want to mess with Hawaii's flow unless necessary. The nice part for Nebraska is that they know she's available and can prepare accordingly as opposed to a complete surprise.

My guess was that she wouldn't start, but I like hearing what other people think!

Agreed. I think Ross gets first crack at it. They'll see how it's working and go from there.

This will be a very interesting match. The travel for Hawaii in theory seems like it could be an issue (although yes they did travel to the midwest in 2015 and beat PSU). So it's up in the air if it will actually be a detriment. I think it can be agreed upon that there is at least potential for the travel to negatively affect Hawaii. Does Hawaii travel private or commercial? How soon are they leaving for Madison? It's definitely a jaunt from Honolulu to Madison, especially on a commercial flight and multiple stops (if that's what they do). The positive is that jet lag doesn't affect young athletes as much as your average person.

Will Rasmussen get the start? Or will Hawai'i go with what has been working and sub her in when the time is right? The only thing Iosia's better at than JR is setting when Choy takes first, but BVS should be setting in that scenario instead to JR. Iosia hit .067 on 15 swings before RAM subbed JR in last night. Nebraska's very lucky they don't have to face our best lineup because they'd really get destroyed/embarrassed. Three different Hawaii players unnecessarily pipe set Ross OOS last night beginning of third where she free balled them all over. Unless she's on real fire or that's really the only possible set, Hawaii won't have the luxury to make that many poor decisions.
