We missed a highly recruited player in Ella Wrobel she was also a local talent and a fan of the Illini team. I'm sure it's hard for Tamas to sell Illinois even when the local talents want to go somewhere else. Tamas hasnt had a recruit in a while, wonder whats holding people from commiting to Illinois.

Has Bruna been able to return to Champaign? I hope she can start gaining more momentum. She is 21 and is a listed as a soph. Hopefully her internation play will set in. We need an all around player asap. I also am excited to finally see Holzman. I think it will be tough to keep her off the floor if she comes back strong from her injury

Wrobel is a national recruit who was being sought after by many top teams. Madison is located about the same distance from Plainfield as Champaign is. While it would have been a great PSA to get, I don't think it is worrisome. I think the new recruiting rules along with the NCAA dead period is what holding people back from committing at this point.

Hey, they’ve got the roster updated on the Illini Vball website! Some New Jersey numbers: Maddie Whittington is #8, Raina Terry is #12, and Sophie Gregus is #21.

O'Brein to Texas, what a slap to the face

O'Brein to Texas, what a slap to the face I'm psyched for her. She graduated early, gets to continue her academics, and got an opportunity to play one more year and for a massive contender. Folks posting on the Texas 2020 thread with insight into the situation said the Texas head coach reached out and presented the opportunity and they're excited to have her. Selfishly, we Illini faithful would have loved to have Mo in the orange and blue for another year but that would've meant starting a grad program here, effectively signing on for another 2+ years. I don't know what she's studying but generally, grad school is a lot of work and it's important to find a program that's a good fit. Can't fault her for finding a good academic program and pursuing it. And once an Illini always an Illini- it'll be fun getting to follow her season and a lot of Illinois fans will be rooting for the Longhorns this year... that is, until a hypothetical tourney match-up with I-L-L!

Agree with exit, as much as it sucks and she held down the back row, volleyball is not forever, and she should be doing what she thinks is best for a career since she will have to do that for a long period of time. She got her degree and performed well for the Illini during her time. Can’t fault her.

She didn't go to UT to play volleyball. Elliott made the approach. It's zero reflection on Illinois. Anyone upset by this is just looking to be upset. She's a great kid, did everything she could for Illinois and now has another opportunity to continue to play the game. Rooting for her.
