Is Syracuse playing without Shemanova and Markova? That is probably half their kills and blocks from the fall. Yes... they are stuck in Russia due to Visa problems.

Announcers said Buckner is injured. Wurl is there and not dressed out. Merkler filling in at O2. If she could figure out the approach footwork, she should stay there... she has a cannon...

Nice win on paper... but too many players out on both sides to really properly evaluate it in my opinion.

Welp... that was extremely disappointing. Given the context of these two matches, I would say the team is more emblematic of this performance than last night.
With that said... this may be the level of expectation moving forward. A team that is middle of the road that could both surprise and disappoint with any given match.

Agreed. It’s solely going to depend on the athletes and their talent. Joe and this staff are getting out-coached at every turn - and has been since Eve and Tyler left. At this point it’s almost laughable that anyone defends Joe and his coaching. He relies on the talent alone. I understand he’s been here forever but accepting mediocrity out of loyalty only heightens mediocrity across the board. It’ll remain that way until a change is ever made. We just have to hope more players don’t continue to leave so when a transition finally happens a new coach isn’t completely screwed from jump.

I think the team ran out of gas middle-end of third set. I can't pin this one on the coaches. Half the starters out, sometimes playing with 3 MB and for few points a DS as OH. The question is if any of the 3 players injured can play next weekend or the following. We have 4 more game weekends in a row.

I think the failure to make any in game adjustments by the staff contributes a lot to us losing this game. I won’t deny our current situation with personnel is hurting us - although you can argue that this coaching staff has put us in the situation with a culture full of transfers out and lackluster transfers in - but I have never seen a team give up so many tip points ever without making an adjustment. In addition, every single free ball we send over goes to the center of their court and puts no pressure on the other team, making no in-game adjustments defensively to a player having success on us at any given second, failing to adjust the game plan offensively when players were off, and somehow thinking the best possible chance to get out of a bad rotation is to sub a front-row hitter for a 5-5 DS with a lefty in front left without at least trying to adjust the serve receive to a two-passer system is just inexcusable. This staff can’t coach in game and that has been well established over the last couple of years. Joe’s adjustments have always been personnel and not actual offensive or defensive system tactics.
We got up big and Clemson made adjustments and we started to fall apart. We didn’t make any adjustments.

So, yesterday we won coming from behind against a better team in paper because they didn't have the best players. Today is the opposite and it is because the coaches didn't adjust. I saw a tired team and an empty bench. Next week, BC and GA tech. Maybe we will beat GA Tech and lose to BC

I didn’t make the comment about us beating Syracuse because they had players missing or it being a nice win on paper. But nice try.
