Ordinarily, I'd agree. The only potential issue is that many schools are grappling with the dilemma of keeping SAs on campus without an impending season, during a pandemic. Particularly if the campus is closed to other students. I've said throughout this situation that the NCAA has abandoned the principle of competitive equity, so I'm expecting a resolution that benefits those who can practice and disadvantages those who can't. But the fairer option would be freezing everything. I’m not looking at it from the competitive balance point of view although I agree with your point on it. It would literally be like being in pre-season for 3.5 months and if a season happened in the spring it would be going full tilt the entire school year. Not sure that’s a positive for anyone, and I know it isn’t for the athlete.

Gurrrl, have you said anything positive in the past 3 months on here? xD (Yes, I know..keeping it real and whatnot blah blah)

Do you thing athletes should be in the gym 20 hours a week in off season?

Do you thing athletes should be in the gym 20 hours a week in off season? Relax. It was a moment of levity in an otherwise depressing state of things

In addition, for the schools (and there will be many) who won't be able to keep their SAs on campus for fall, the loss of that amount of practice time would be huge.

Nicklin posted about being happy everyone on the team will "get another semester together". I assume that means Lexi and Lauren will at least stick around for the spring.

She had a really good season last year, and I was hoping that she’d have a true breakout season (in what was supposed to be this season) and become a top outside to doubt her haters.

In my opinion, Lexi is a really good player. Yes, she isn’t as amazing as her prep hype would suggest, but she didn’t create that hype. She spent her sophomore year injured and thus her performance was lacking. This year she really stepped it up. She is a pretty good defender, and good server, and a REALLY good blocker. Her attacking could definitely improve but is pretty solid and will only get better if she stays. Her passing could use some work, but many outsides in D1 struggle with passing.

I don’t think at this point she was walking into an upper level pro situation, I think she was positioning herself for that with a great season this year.

I thought by the end of the season that Lexi had become a Top OH. The lack of quality first contact really hurt her numbers last season.

Considering Sun was third on the team in total passes in 2019 and also the worst passer on the roster (1.85 grade out of 3, 38.5% good pass) some might describe that as self harm...

She was statistically their poorest primary passer.

She was statistically their poorest primary passer. There were 4 passers (all of whom were on the roster) who made more than 300 passers in 2019. Lexi Sun was one of them. She had a 38.5% GP%. The next worst, Megan Miller, was at 46.6%. The best in the conference were over 60%. I'm not sure what you're arguing here...

I’m not arguing anything other than “the roster” makes it look she’s the worst passer on the entire team which wouldn’t be true. It just seemed unnecessary as the overwhelming majority of the roster never passed a ball. It’s all good
