I suspect there are differing conservative vs liberal leanings on the team now. At least that's what I've heard. That used to be part of the college experience, meeting and interacting with people of differing views and backgrounds. Learning to respect others viewpoints. Keeping an open mind. Unfortunately many are labeling people they do not agree with as extremist. Coming to blows over a teammates political views? I would hope not, but if so college has changed, and not for the better. It's almost impossible to be an athlete in almost any sport and not be exposed to a bunch of people with different views (who you have to play with). It can be a bad thing but it's also quite often a good thing as well because you might see things from a different perspective. I do think that when Volleyball was regionalized in the certain regions it was a fairly liberal sport. But the growth of the game means more people of differing views are also playing it.

She is an extremist for her demographic.

She is an extremist for her demographic. She may have views that are not typical of others in her demographic (not saying that is true,I do not know), but that makes her an extremist? The example posted appears to be a political joke. It was anti Biden. Would an anti-Trump Qanon political joke also be extremist. Seen a lot of political jokes/digs on both sides. Not how I label extremeism. Again she may or may not be a good fit for the NE volleyball team. Coaches consider that in recruiting. No advantage to bring in a disruptive player/issue. Let them decide that. Please stop with the extremist political label, IMO it's in the eye of the accuser.

exactly, I don’t think black athletes or athletes who support BLM would feel good knowing a teammate posts stuff like this It appears a one sided extremist label is being applied IMO. You maybe right on team chemistry. Country is in trouble for same reason. False equivalency. That being said Trump support to extremist is a unidirectional relationship. Most Trump supporters are not extremist and many are quite reasonable. But if you are a conspiracy touting, mask denying, anti-science zealot who finds it necessary to constantly take pictures of yourself holding a gun while literally wrapped in a flag as proof of your patriotic credentials, you are 100% a Trump supporter.

well then respectfully you don’t know what you’re talking about. Took the time to go through her page... can someone point out to me the post that has gotten her labeled in here as an extremist ? Again I’m not saying I agree with her, but supporting one candidate over the other does not make someone an extremist. A snippet from the def of extremist “one who resorts to or advocates extreme action.” I looked through the comments and read the captions as well and saw nothing advocating for or taking extreme action on her part. Krause makes her political viewpoints clear on social media and because posters on here agree with her, it’s okay. Koerber does the same and is labeled as unwelcome. If she was an extremist, I would get it. But to me she just seems like a young girl who isn’t afraid to post who she’s voting for... that should be respected as it is when other players do so Agree with you 100 percent! I thought she came off as a strong confident person, nothing extreme in any of her posts. I’ve seen athletes share posts supporting blm, but somehow that is ok.

I have no problem with athletes posting however they feel. I just hope that different viewpoints are still given respect even if someone doesn’t agree.

I don’t really know her specific situation and haven’t even looked on her social media. I’ll have to judge that for myself but the only thing I’ve seen talked about on here is that she calls herself a patriot. Multiple posters saying anyone who calls themselves a patriot they don’t want to be on the team. That is absolutely insane if we are now narrowing down the recruiting process to only people with same views. Well, colleges are also WAY more diverse than they were back in the day. It's not a bunch of middle and upper class people talking about trivial political issues. There is absolutely no reason why any person of color should respect anyone who doesn't believe that their life matters. There is no reason why anyone needs to agree and come to terms with a person who ignores science and thinks "masks are stupid" and thinks the pandemic is a hoax. Period. It's a different time. People don't put up with bullsh*t anymore. But anyways, this is not Off the Net and I will stop there (pls don't ban me). This thread should get back on track and start talking about the insane talent in the incoming class. Y'all are building something really special for the upcoming years. I can't wait to see Krause and Batenhorst in the NCAA. I mean, wow, what a class. Husker fans have a LOT to look forward to. Just thinking about Orr, Rodriguez, Krause, Batenhorst, my goodness if I were a D1 coach I would be shaking in my boots.

Not all trump supporters are extremists, just like not all blm supporters are domestic terrorists.
