Ohhh wrong poster to go there with. ![](https://media1.giphy.com/media/26u4cS5vSnWyepw6Q/giphy.gif) Not at all. I couldn't care less what information he has. Parra is a great player and even when I watched her play against logan eggleston and molly Phillips over the summer she was serving very tough and hitting over the block of logan eggleston and molly Phillips and everyone knows how hard that is based on what they did this season. Nobody is going to tell me she is not a great player. She will start at Texas at the end of the day so what anyone has to say about her is completely irrelevant to me. We can talk all day about statistics because Logan eggleston was not a great passer this season but it doesn't take away from the fact that she is an outstanding player and gamechanger. Same goes for Parra only she is a great passer so it is what it is. Im not about to let someone who is not a texas fan tell me otherwise about a player that is a Texas recruit and he's not even a Texas fan lol makes no sense whatsoever 🙄 The fact that you just said Logan Eggleston didn't pass great this season ought to revoke your fan card.... She passed a 2.15! That's one of the best marks for a 6RO OH anywhere (Savvy Simo notwithstanding). For context, your Libero (who should've been closer to Savvy) passed a 2.16! In the tournament, Logan was the best passer on your team. You really aren't doing yourself any favors in the Parra analysis stakes by putting your ignorance on display like this...

Are...you good? Like...who upset you? She literally plays international ball and starts, which is harder by a lot than nearly any NCAA caliber match. Whatever, it’s not like it matters at this point - what matters is how she’ll play and I’m confident she’ll do great along with most Texas (and big time) recruits. Jerritt doesn’t get paid what he gets paid because he makes errors in recruiting. And he certainly doesn’t because of his exceptional coaching lol. So...go back to your big west team that’s clawing for a tournament birth Funny, a little over a week ago Texas fans were telling me I was welcome in Texas threads any time. Dude you’re adding nothing to the conversation, just trolling. There are many avenues to critique and engage with Texas fans about Texas volleyball, but coming after a high schooler many are excited about is never a good look in any thread. Sorry your daughter wasn’t up to par for Jerritt’s system.

OK guys, so talking to this professional youtube scout I just thought of a game we're going to call: Which One Is Melanie Parra?The idea is simple. I'm going to post the attacking, passing, serving and blocking numbers for 4 real OHs from the analytics site volleymetrics. If you don't know volleymetrics, it's your favorite team's favorite analytics site. All you have to do is guess which one is the fabled Melanie Parra. | Hitting Efficiency | Hitting - Kill % | Passing Grade (out of 3) | Good Pass % (% of 2+ passes) | Serving - (Opponent GP% vs her serve) Lower is better | Good Block % | Block Error % | Player A | .311 | 39.7% | 2.01 | 44% | 46.3% | 47.5% | 30.6% | Player B | .264 | 35.8% | 1.83 | 40% | 33% | 14% | 58% | Player C | .262 | 43.1% | 2.07 | 47.5% | 37.5% | 31.5% | 46.4% | Player D | .336 | 42.3% | 1.90 | 40% | 71.4% | 48.5% | 30.4% |
Edit: I don't troll and I don't have a daughter. Enjoy the game! (Added to the chart for accuracy)

From the season. Composite. As in, they include the entire season. She passed a 2.15. That's elite. These games AREN'T coded by kids watching on youtube. This is the data we use to evaluate players. How many times do I need to say it before you get it through your thick skull. Your not a Texas fan therefore you have nothing to say to me. As a Texas fan I have the right to be excited about a recruit. The level melanie parra played at is much tougher than the college level and She is 17 years old and a great player so stop trying to take that away from her. If melanie parra were to be ranked in the USA in terms of top outside hitters she would without a doubt be the best outside hitter in the country and be considered the #1 recruit. I don't care about your metrics and statistics because at the end of the day she is a great player and I am very excited to have her at the 40 acres and I will be at every home match watching her dominate. Why are you so determined on speaking negatively about her and she is not even on campus yet. Why are you even in a Texas thread if your not a Texas fan. That makes absolutely no sense to me

I’m excited for Texas 2020, and if she gets beat out - well then other teams should really be scared because that’s a DEEP bench. Anyway, I’m very interested in Davis’ development. She seems like a player that would really flourish in our system. I liked her style a lot at Nebraska

Your opinion is irrelevant. Now play my game. The serve receive passing was not great for anyone this season which is why it was such a big emphasis this season and guess what it cost them there spot in the tournament. Your trying to make it seem like I'm talking bad about logan or Texas and that's far from it. Logan is a great player and Texas is a dominant team and I am ride or die for Texas all day. There are things that definitely need to be worked on and that's just that. I don't know why you keep speaking on Texas volleyball and your not a Texas fan🤷🏽♂️ I don't need to look at statistics and metrics to see that melanie parra will be a gamechanger for Texas. She definitely has things she needs to work on as well but she is as far along as any freshman I have seen come through Gregory gymnasium. She will come in dominate and Texas will dominate so your stats and whatever mean absolutely nothing to me because when she gets to texas is a different ball game

That makes absolutely no sense to me I'm here because FACTS are important. They mean something. Your excitement is great. That's what you're there for as a fan. But the minute you start suggesting "x recruit" has a good pass % of 85% or that she's got "a tough serve" I'm going to check the NUMBERS. Not because I hate Texas (I actually like Texas - you still haven't looked at my posting history, despite your attempts to categorize me). Not because I'm hating on Melanie either. I'm actually a fan of hers and I hope she isn't given an unrealistic set of expectations from a bunch of fans that wouldn't know their ass from their elbow. No, I'm correcting your ridiculous statements because posting fallacies, errors and nonsense not only lowers the quality of conversation ON THE ENTIRE BOARD but it creates ridiculous narratives around here which just don't have any bearing on reality. If you want to stick your head in the sand and scream "LA-LA-LA" while I tell you how is has ACTUALLY performed, that's your call. But, as I have said, when I was posting data in defense of Texas players plenty of posters in the Texas thread loved me... Can't have it both ways. Facts are facts, they don't care about your opinion.

She is a great jumper with the ability to hit over the block. She was not treated right at all. The spring will be very beneficial for her in terms of getting the training Texas has to give as well as get her used to the system. I just hope we are able to watch the spring matches online this year because I wanna see how everything plays out with davis as well as cabello

But, as I have said, when I was posting data in defense of Texas players plenty of posters in the Texas thread loved me... Can't have it both ways. Facts are facts, they don't care about your opinion. No the facts are melanie parra played against much tougher competition compared to any other freshman coming in for any team in 2020. If you were to put parra against the competition the rest of the incoming recruits played in high school then her numbers would drastically improve in terms of stats since thats all you talk about and if you put those recruits against the competition she played they wouldn't know what to do with themselves. Her stats are based off of playing 100x tougher competition than the rest of these freshman. I don't give a rats ass about your stats and your right I am a fan with high expectations as I have for every freshman that comes to Texas. The fact that your even in this thread is beyond me for the simple fact YOUR NOT A TEXAS FAN. I would agree with you if you gave stats on Madison williams or losia because the competition they played is nothing compared to parra so again your stats mean absolutely nothing to me
