Nobody said anything about Hall not being backrow capable. She definitely is. I don’t think Caesar will play back row given all the defensive options Florida is. I would bet money on it I don't think Florida is going to be an elite passing or defensive team no matter how they line up their back row. The Gators are going to compete at the Top 10 level with their physicality at the net and elite score-from-anywhere pins (assuming Hall and Caesar both get healthy and Carlton continues to mature as a hitter). I think Florida gains more from keeping a dangerous pipe / B threat while Hall is back row than by becoming slightly better as a ball control team. They don't have the personnel to be Nebraska/PSU/Stanford, so they shouldn't be afraid to be Texas (who's won a title in recent memory). except they do have the players to be an elite passing and defensive team? Hammons and the freshman libero is a STUD. Riley and Paula both show great promise with their floor defense and will become better at serve receive. Thayer hall is no slouch in sr or defense either.

We're just gonna have to disagree on this point, at least in terms of elite at the Top 10 level nationally.

I don’t think they are going to be in the top 10 teams in just passing percentage but they will likely be ranked in the top ten teams in the country and among those teams I’m willing to bet they pass and defend at a similar or higher level. If that makes sense

To be fair, a lot of the top teams probably won't be i.e. Nebraska, Minnesota, Baylor, etc...

Totally agree with that and that’s why I think Florida will be in the upper half of passing when it comes to top ten teams

Or are they gonna need an extra outlet hitter?

Mckissok is very good. I think she’s the best option to play libero next season but who knows how she’ll adapt to the college game. Florida has a strong chance to be a top 10 seed by the tourney if they can get some more consistency setting, but the wildcard for them imo is really the middle. Dooley and king have shown bright spots but haven’t consistently impressed and shown they can play with anyone. Okammor is very athletic and has lots of potential but hasn’t been playing vb for a very long time I believe, so a lot of questions in the middle.

We're just gonna have to disagree on this point, at least in terms of elite at the Top 10 level nationally. I'm not sure about your Stanford/PSU/Nebraska group. Of course all have great histories of ball control, and two of the three were good in 2019, but Florida was actually (slightly) better than all of them. In 2019 UF passed a 2.20, Stanford and PSU passed a 2.19, Nebraska passed a 2.03. Looking ahead to 2020, all 3 face uncertainty in terms of passing. Stanford will have two new passers (one of whom will prob be a freshman), PSU passed two all year and graduated White and Holcomb and Nebraska... Well their SR is a mess and it won't be THAT MUCH better in 2020 to top UF. As for Florida graduated Gregory who passed well (2.27) and neither Fischer or Cerame were close to that (2.07 and 1.94) but McKissock is good and I'm expecting her to take the jersey. Hammons is a very good ball control OH (2.31 in 2019), Hall is good for an OH (2.15) so if McKissock can come in even close to Gregory they should again be one of the better passing teams in the nation. Regarding the Top 10 in 2020, with so many new Liberos there's bound to be a shake up. Kentucky were the best passing team (2.28) in the nation in 2019, I don't expect much change there; they lost Edmond (2.12) but can DS her replacement if necessary and they keep Curry, Stumler and Tharp as the best passing trio in D1. UCSB were up there last year (2.26) but gutted their roster, losing all 3 main passers from 2019. TAMU (2.24) lost Gomez, Oregon (2.20) are adding another good DS so they will likely be better than Florida and Purdue (2.18) lost no passers so might leapfrog Florida, but either way, if Florida aren't in that Top 10 group, they're only slightly outside it and I'd say odds are they'll be better than the Card, Huskers or Nittany Lions again in 2020.
