So without seeing any of the players you "guess" that Parker is beat out by 2 others for pin positions and will share a spot with a third player? How accurate are your guesses about these things usually? I'm guessing that your guesses aren't correct in this case. Making bold predictions is a fun way to kick off discussions. Feel free to drop your 2 cents about the starters for the season. Best guesser gets bragging rights. 2 cents.... Blossom/Hord/Gray/Hampton ... will play every match this season in their natural position Parker ... will play every match this season but in varied roles. Clark/Fitzpatrick/Flowers/Kudryashova/Van Den Elzen ...all will have SOME playing time in various roles because of no preseason. All have attributes to contribute that each other doesn’t have...better blocker, better hitter, back row attack, better passer...... Freshman will play more important roles than you think... BIG play will be exciting to finally watch, however I think there will be some “upsets” across the conference just because of season delay and no preseason. Only PSU and WISCONSIN play every team that made the post season last year (RPI?) The usual suspects will emerge in the end. PSU/WISCONSIN/MINNESOTA and unfortunately NEBRASKA.

NEWSFLASH... Outside of Nebraska, the Huskers aren't well liked as far as I can tell. Respected? Definitely. Admired? Perhaps. Liked? No.

I was being overly optimistic, hoping that Clark and Flowers can come in and contribute right away with Parker playing a utility role, coming in wherever and whenever needed. LOL!!! The last line was the best part of your post. Aaahhhh, the rivalries live on!!

No. Without seeing any practices, and as much as I like Parker personally, I'm guessing here. I think Flowers and Parker will platoon on the right and Fitzpatrick will own that OH1 spot. So without seeing any of the players you "guess" that Parker is beat out by 2 others for pin positions and will share a spot with a third player? How accurate are your guesses about these things usually? I'm guessing that your guesses aren't correct in this case. Nobody puts Jonni in a corner! 😀

My Prediction (if 5-1) OH1 - Parker OH2 - Fitzpatrick MB - Hord MB - Gray Opp - Flowers S - Blossom L - Hampton if 6-2 Swap Clark in at OH-2 and Parker plays setter and second OPP I think the 5-1 prediction is correct. I don’t see them going to a 6-2. Others may challenge for the OH2 and OPP spots. If there are two strong OH’s, Parker can stay as OPP. I just don’t know that this will happen.

You know the season is close when we're talking about running the 6-2... A tradition like no other...

I know 2020 (and unfortunately the start of 2021) have made many people believe were living in a parallel universe, but there is just no possible timeline in which I see Parker not starting for PSU. She is imo the most important player for the Lions this season and their success will depend heavily on her play.

However, i think the team’s X-Factor is Hampton and the other passers on the team. Without a super terminal OH (as far as we know), this team needs to pass really well for the middles to score and give the pins more 1v1 looks. I’m also hoping Blossom gets the green light to speed up the offense a little bit this year. She can be extremely creative.

I think Jonni parker should have been converted the left side a long time ago. I said all last season that I would have preferred her on the left and Gorrell on the right. While I think Tori did well on the left. The swing she would show on the right was wicked and not to mention the tougher block. I would love to see Jonni make a move to the left. plz

How did we do so well with fall sports teams not catching COVID (yes, I know only football actually played), but in Spring we've already got 2 teams stopping activities (basketball and wrestling)?
