It all seems pretty bleak at this point in time. It just isn't slowing down.

It all seems pretty bleak at this point in time. It just isn't slowing down. It does seem very bleak. Hard to imagine that some of the overseas leagues end up finishing the year. It doesn’t even seem responsible to send any of the teams to a VNL tournament where they are flying someplace new week to week. Some countries are starting to limit travel in and out of the country (thought I saw today something about France). I would have some serious reservations about it if I was a player. Two months out and I would think there would need to be some decisions made soon.

So this tournament will be very interesting if it happens which I feel like it will. Since it will take place after the Olympics (for now unless they too get postponed) I will likely restart the poll and delete any players with remaining collegiate eligibility since the NCAA season will have started by then.
There is potential for teams to really focus on development for the rest of 2020 and into 2021. There will technically be 5 VNL's in the next quad. I really expect only Larson, Hill and Akinradewo to retire after Tokyo. The rest of them should stick around for another quad.
I'm going to wait to hear a final verdict on if the Tokyo games will take place before I restart the poll.

Then we start a whole new process of figuring out a roster for 2022 Olympics?

I would think just back one to 2021. No? Who knows. I'm sure they're considering all options. Much of the logistical stuff (housing, convention center use, etc.) would be easier with the full 2+ years to reschedule.

Much of the logistical stuff (housing, convention center use, etc.) would be easier with the full 2+ years to reschedule. It would also do teams with injuries/last minute development a world of good. Right now it's China, Serbia and Italy as the clear top three podium favorites. In two more years...I would add a few more teams to that tally. Edit: Those teams would be USA, Brazil and Turkey. Also the Dominican Republic and South Korea are trending upwards too. Who knows what could happen if any of these 5 have more time to develop. Lots of variables to consider both trending up(development) and down(injury/retirement). Russia, Argentina, Japan and Kenya I don't see improving a ton in that amount of time. We have seen all we are going to from them.

Not totally out of the question, but I feel if she doesn't retire right after this OG. She may get the Lloyd/Gibbemeyer treatment, be somewhat pushed out. A lot of exciting talent on the pins coming. I hope she maintains, I really enjoy MBH

I can see her still playing at least 2-4 more years provided she stays healthy. No reason to think she won't stay on the NT.
