On paper, homerun hire by Ole Miss. Seems like the consulting firm got it right with both of the openings in Oxford.

Updated the main post with news of the Banwarth hire. Have to admit I am very surprised that OM would be the job Banwarth would take, but wish her and the OM program the best of luck!!!
Pro tip: If you’re in a staff meeting with the football coach, Coach Banwarth, watch your back! ;-)

Per the transfer thread, TN has landed a transfer setter, Natalie Hayward, from DePaul. Updated the main thread on that, as well.

I’m not sure - it’s certainly a “win the press conference” home run (but maybe that’s what you mean by “on paper”). It certainly could turn out to be an incredible move by the Rebs! Hiring someone with no HC experience for a P5 job could be a risk, but Busboom certainly seems to be doing well at Louisville.

She blew up in the club scene at the same point in time the Corbellis were let go. The big schools went after her and she decommitted That's only part of it. She decommitted when the Corbellis were let go, re-evaluated her options and then recommitted to TAMU. Then her club director reached out to schools once she took a big jump in level during club (including Texas, Minnesota and a few others). She decommitted (after being marketed to schools) again and chose Minnesota. Worth noting that a few of the schools her club director reached out to declined to pursue her due to the fact that she was still committed to TAMU at the time...Texas and Minnesota didn't seem to care. Clearly karma was involved in Texas losing at home to Louisville (despite Jerritt's best attempts at pumping the crowd up), and Minnesota getting embarrassed on national television albeit Stanford was on a totally different level.

Did I hear somewhere that her parents are TAMU alum? That's got to sting for TAMU and it's fans when she seemed all but locked up. Maybe she'll get homesick and transfer home after a year... I lived in MPLS for about 15 and I can tell you I don't miss the winters at all. AT ALL.

Though no official word from Missouri, it was noted in the transfer thread that Anna Dixon (K-State) was sporting a Mizzou sweatshirt on her instagram account. It will interesting to see if she can get any substantial playing time this coming season behind DeBerg, Meneh, and Santana. The future looks a little more brighter with her though, as MU will be losing a solid core to graduation next year.
Per the K-State volleyball page - Named to the Big 12 All-Rookie Team in her first season at K-State ... Led the Wildcats with 2.89 kills per set and finished second with 292 total kills ... Her 2.89 kills per set were tops among Big 12 freshmen ... Finished her freshman season with 84 digs, 47 total blocks and nine service aces

I wonder if Mizzou will get another middle transfer with Caffey off the roster.

But didn’t we say something like this two years ago and they brought in three transfers? Lol. I’m sure Dillon will come into her own. The place I worry the most is libero. Do you think Duran will hold onto the shirt next year?

I’m sure Dillon will come into her own. The place I worry the most is libero. Do you think Duran will hold onto the shirt next year? I can only guess but I would think Duran would be used in the back row again. She's certainly not going to leapfrog any of the other outsides next season, so she can get her reps by playing in the back row. Personally I'd like to see them utilize her more as a back row attacker. I remember seeing her take a good crack at the ball on a busted play and she had no hesitation doing so. I don't know she would get the libero jersey again, she kind of stumbled a bit when she was the focal point of the defense. The incoming freshman DS, Emily Brown, is highly touted and hopefully for Mizzou fans she can handle the responsibility of shoring up the passing defense.
I would have to think they would bring in a MB transfer. I haven't paid close attention to the transfer portal, are there any good ones looking for a new home?
