They are definitely close. Arkansas lost to the top teams Kentucky Florida and mizzou and split with LSU and Tennessee. Tennessee has the double W at mizzou but losses to Carolina and Alabama. Man this is splitting hairs! Another perspective is to leave Missouri out and only take Florida and Kentucky to the NCAA Tournament. I don't think they would be wrong for that. Missouri didn't beat UF/UK and lost three 'other' matches. The SEC got 5 at-larges though last year, so 2-3 seems like that would be reasonable. The easiest answer will probably be to take Florida and Mizzou as the at-larges. But I wouldn't be shocked to see just 1 at-large, and I also wouldn't be shocked to see 3 adding Mizzou and either Arkansas or Tennessee(if they do win-out) sneak in there. I agree with you about realistically only seeing Florida and Kentucky make it. I think if anything Mizzou will get the at-large based on being ranked (not saying I agree with the AVCA poll but they seem to love the polls....)

Did I miss someone arguing for including Arkansas in the tournament? I would give them the nod over Tennessee — Mizzou’s roster was a mess the TN weekend — but it’s certainly arguable. But neither of them is better than Mizzou at full strength. It’s Kentucky and Florida for sure, probably Mizzou (unless they lose to Mississippi State, which I don’t see happening), and then ... no one. I don’t think the SEC get’s an 8 loss team an at-large bid. (Plus, I don’t think either TN or Ark really deserves a bid based on overall quality of play). I didn't see anyone making that argument. This is just me being me as NCAA selection time is nearing :-)

The other part is that she jumps through the roof and has a killer arm swing! ;-) yep! Haha She made the Carlton/Dooley block look like a pair of 6-foot flatters. I love when big blockers get disrespected like that. She'll be scary in the next few years if not sooner.

I didn’t comment on the COY thing. I am absolutely impressed by what Jason has done with this team — from 9th (I think?) preseason to 4th. With pretty much the same team (adding Head) and 3/4 pin players 5’10” or shorter. The team played pretty consistent and generally high quality volleyball all season, and they improved as the season went on. Rackham deserved it, and I think Watson does, too. But ..... There seems to be an entrenched tradition to give the COY award to the conference winner, so I think that it will be Skinner. And honestly, he’s done a great coaching job this year, too. Putting Tealer in the middle, winning consistently with the MB position on the roster being what it is, not really missing a step after losing Edmond ... it’s an impressive coaching job. my thoughts exactly on Skinner. What he did, others will and have already followed.

Arkansas improved immensely, but that doesn't make them a tournament team, especially this year. In 6 matches against Florida, UK and Missouri, the Razorbacks only took 2 sets.
Mizzou is the SEC's only chance at a 3rd team, imo.

LSU has got to be one of the most Jekyll and Hyde teams I can think of. They can look really good when things are flowing, but then it starts to fall apart, and it's hard to put a finger on why that is. From set to set, it can look so different. With everyone coming back in the fall, they should be more consistent... (??) Don’t hold your breath! LSU seems to be the classic spoiler Team. They start their seasons so slow that they spoil their tournament chances, and heat up at the end of the season, spoiling the chances of those they beat.

I'm not sure they are deserving, at the same time I wouldn't want face them in the first match of the tourney when Deberg is rested.

The awards for Week 14: SEC Player of the Week - Taylor Bannister, LSU SEC Offensive Player of the Week - LSU's Taylor Bannister, a senior right side from Missouri City, Texas, averaged 5.94 points, 5.33 kills and 1.78 digs per set in the series win over Georgia. In the opening match on Friday, Bannister registered 30 kills on a .481 hitting percentage along with seven digs, six total blocks and two assists. She is now second on LSU's all-time kills list with 1,605, the second player in program history to surpass 1,600 kills in their career. SEC Defensive Player of the Week - LSU's Raigen Cianciulli, a senior libero from Spring, Texas, averaged 5.22 digs per set in the two wins over Georgia. Cianciulli posted her second double-double of her career and first of the season on Friday with 20 digs and 10 assists. She followed that with a season-high 27 digs on Saturday. SEC Co-Setters of the Week - Arkansas' Gracie Ryan, a junior from Orlando, Fla., averaged 11.50 assists per set in the series win over South Carolina. Ryan tallied 55 assists in Friday's match and 37 more on Saturday as the Razorbacks hit .296 as a team to earn the first win and sweep over the Gamecocks since 2018. Kentucky's Madison Lilley, a senior from Overland, Kan., averaged 11.62 assists per set in the series split at No. 7 Florida. Lilley has a season-high 59 assists in the five-set match on Friday afternoon, and added 34 assists in the three-set win on Saturday. She now has 11 matches this season with 40+ assists and 56 in her career. SEC Freshman of the Week - Arkansas' Taylor Head, an outside hitter from Winter Garden, Fla., averaged 3.56 points, 3.13 kills and 3.63 digs per set and owned a .321 hitting percentage in the series win over South Carolina. In the opening match on Friday, Head contributed her 13th double-double of the season with 18 kills and 14 digs along with three total blocks. I saw most of the games this weekend, and I thought these were well-deserved. Bannister, in particular, was a beast!! Congrats to all and their family members who post here! (looking at you, dman)

As far as masks on fans in the stands in the SEC, is it just up to the school to require it if they want to?

Another horrible replay review. This extra SEC official does not help.
Missouri was clearly NOT in the net on that play.
