Who are you to tell me I need to be less fragile? You have no idea how much I care or don't care. Haha, trust me, you don't feel bad for me. Tone deaf means someone is being insensitive. We're talking about volleyball on a volleyball forum. I'm not discussing my favorite cigarette at a lung cancer support group. It's literally the purpose of this board. If you don't like the facts, you don't have to read them (the ignore feature is easy to find). But there's nothing tone deaf about sharing the passing stats of players. Yeah, the whole “don’t like data” thing doesn’t fly with me. Data is quite literally my life. I appreciate it a ton. It’s all the crap surrounding your data (along with the way it’s delivered) that people speak up about... but you can’t see that and it’s a bit unfortunate. "Your data"... It isn't MY data. That's your issue here. It's a statistical representation of performance. I'm not making stuff up! And, again, if I was quoting blocking numbers (UMN were good) I guarantee you'd be thanking me for it. NO ONE was discussing the fact that the team passing grade was so low (because that data isn't widely available) so I shared it because it's objectively interesting - that a team can pass 1.93 on a season and end up in the FF. I doubt that's ever happened before. It's pretty incredible if you think about it. Now you're crying because, in the process, I pointed out the grades of individual players that made up that team grade. Again, I get it. You aren't the first to hate that I share this stuff. But at least it's factually accurate, which is why you have to get mad at me or assume I have some kind of anti-UMN thing going on. Huh? Nobody claims you're making stuff up. At least, I don't. I'm not sure where that came from. It's clear you cannot understand why your posts are annoying, you're just not *getting* it from many people trying to tell you the same thing... so, I guess that's all I have? lol Funny that you'd say "I don't know why you care so much" when you're the one who infiltrates every thread with CC McGraw's passing stats and respond to every single person who responds to you -- seems we must both care, neither of us can seem to stop responding about it.  If you like stats so much, share some other stats with us! The only stat you truly love to post is CC McGraw's 2019 passing stat. That doesn't tell me you love stats in any way. One stat. That's what you push. One single stat. Not stats. |

Do you really think it's all about fans having their feelings hurt because they are so attached to their players they can't deal with the truth? Go ahead and keep telling yourself that. Since he took issue with the phrase "your data", we might as well try to clear that up. It IS "his data". He is choosing which stats to provide, and how, where, and when to provide them. He introduced the CC McGraw passing stat in order to argue she did not deserve AA Honorable Mention. He then went on to compare CC's passing stats to other BigTen setters and went so far as to proclaim CC a "hindrance" to the Gophers in the 2019 season. So, no matter what he claims, he's not just presenting "the data". It's not just factual. He's choosing what data to present, in what context, and making arguments based on the data. For me, this whole thing started because I took issue with his calling CC McGraw a hindrance to the 2019 University of Minnesota Volleyball Team  |

Maybe you're just over sensitive? Yeah...November 16th, 2019-on. I was there (2019 BWC Conference thread) when this dude came barreling in: dissing everyone (especially UH fans, along with ccmanlb & others). He eventually moved on to almost every other fanbase's threads...ending up with precisely the same MO (alienating nearly everybody) as with that BW 2019/ this thread. At the time, I wondered how any active current coach (as he proclaims to be...esp. with his 'insider' VM access) could possibly spend so much time here: right towards the end of a current, ongoing season. I also wrote a PM to him: explaining how his manner of engagement with so many fanbases; NOT his data dissemination; is what most of them are/were objecting to. The how, not the what. I have been dormant on the Board since months back; I follow this program, though. Peace out, stay safe and secure, take care...and get immediate treatment if need be! |
