Not when Alana Walker is second with 10 blocks in 6 sets, Probably just missed her.

It's percentage of team's sets. NU has had matches cancelled but her 6 sets are 100% of sets played.

Minnesota - Wisconsin Penn State - Purdue - Nebraska Michigan - Ohio State - Illinois Northwestern - Michigan State Maryland Indiana - Iowa - Rutgers Northwestern and Michigan may belong one group better, but need more matches to evaluate. Best Big Ten from top to bottom that I can remember. Wisconsin starting 5 hitters are hitting - .384 Minnesota starting 5 hitters are hitting - .255 Wisconsin opponents hitting pct - .135 Minnesota opponents hitting pct - .183 1 Common opponent points scored: Wisconsin vs Purdue: 150-103 (59.2% of points scored) Minnesota vs Purdue: 208-200 (50.9% of points scored) Minnesota may end up being the better team. But right now there is zero case for ranking them on same level as Wisconsin. The common opponent argument barely holds water to me. It's a bit sketchy in normal times, but Purdue with Grace Cleveland and without are 2 very different animals. And, Minnesota has a more impressive collection of wins. Purdue, Michigan St., Penn State and Maryland are a better group of wins than Purdue (Minus Cleveland), Illinois, Rutgers and Indiana.

I mean, what does Robinson have to do? Who is going to have better weeks in the B1G than she did this last week, other than Rettke and Samedy? She is also almost at a block per set, which is pretty good for a pin player. She is second in conference in hitting percentage in the conference after 8 matches, as a freshman. She looks great out there.
I understand the desire to spread awards around, and the other players had good weekends, but this is ridiculous.

I don't particularly care about who wins weekly awards, though they are nice for recognition. I actually thought Devyn would be tough to beat for B1G POTW and was a pretty safe bet for FOW. Samedy leading MN to a series sweep of PSU would trump a series sweep of Indiana, so that makes sense. Oh well. Guess she'll have to go out this weekend and hit .800 or something.

It doesn’t lend itself to the gaudy kill totals that some teams with concentrated work loads produce. The time to earn weekly awards will be when they face off with the Minnesota’s and Penn State’s later in the season!

It doesn’t lend itself to the gaudy kill totals that some teams with concentrated work loads produce. The time to earn weekly awards will be when they face off with the Minnesota’s and Penn State’s later in the season! But Robinson's K/S are better. The only thing that kept the kills totals lower is that the badgers swept their opponents. They swept them in large part because of Robinson's performance! Indiana basically dared her to beat them, and she did. I agree that the weekly awards probably await the big showdowns, although it's hard for a frosh to show up in those, but that didn't keep Shaffmaster from winning FOW when the gophers were playing an unranked, young, still somewhat disorganized MSU squad, and she had less than 9 assists/set. Robinson hit 0.600 against Purdue that weekend. I also don't care much about weekly awards either, but if you are going to give them out, make them make sense.
