I think MVP of U18 World Championships is more impressive. She is the first and only US player to win the honor.

It's the first Rosen Report of 2020 and there is big news about the spring schedule! Michigan has Pitt, Ohio State (!), Notre Dame and Michigan State booked. Schedule goes up online later today but this is what I got off the video: 3/21: @ Pitt 3/28 @ Western Michigan (vs. Notre Dame and WMU) 4/4 @ Bowling Green (vs. BGSU and Ohio State; paging Brutus Buckeye) 4/18 @ Aquinas College vs. Michigan State That's an excellent slate of competition for the spring season and we will get our first look at Jess Mruzik in the lineup.

At this point, the Mruzik hype is out of control. Looking forward to seeing her on the court in the Maize and Blue.

Why do you suppose that the Wolverines deleted the tweet about the BG scrimmage? Cancelled? Or they weren't supposed to say anything?

Why do you suppose that the Wolverines deleted the tweet about the BG scrimmage? Cancelled? Or they weren't supposed to say anything? Good question. The Facebook video with Mark Rosen talking about all of the dates and opponents is still up. My guess is that one or two of those dates/matches were not entirely confirmed and they decided to pull it until final. Really hoping that BGSU date is still a go against OSU.

Well, this is different. A chance to get an early peek at how Jess Mruzik is fitting in with the spring squad. This is also being held in conjunction with the team's "Young Prospect" clinic being held the same day.

We got a unique glimpse into the team training regiment today as Michigan hosted an open practice as part of its "future prospect" clinic. Notes from the early spring session:
- Mark Rosen was not in attendance; assume he is out on the recruiting trail. The practice was run by Leisa Rosen, Jerome Fraisse, and newly minted volunteer assistant Ashlie Reasor. Caroline Pearson was also on the floor working as a setter. - Of course everyone wanted to see Mruzik. She looked solid; I was especially impressed with her passing and serve receive from the back row. She appears ready to go 6-ro with Jones. She's a smart, explosive hitter. She looks like she's been playing with the team for years, very encouraging. - Our new transfer setter Jenni Liu was a little rough; she has a lot of work to do to be able to perform consistently at this level. Maddie Dowd performed well, but I think her primary role will still be as a backup to Scottee Johnson. Tons of pressure on Johnson this fall to run this high power offense. - May Pertofsky was the star of the show; bombing balls from all over the court. Her hits just sound different and she showed off some new wrinkles in her service game. Very excited for her sophomore season. - Smith and Beals are the only two smalls on the spring squad. Smith is looking and acting like a floor captain; Beals looks like she is improving and ready to take a step up. Hannah Grant watched from the stands. - Jones remains cash money, she is only getting better - Everyone looked healthy; no noticeable injuries at this point.
The spring competitions will be interesting to watch, it will be tough to gauge this team until Johnson and the new smalls arrive in the fall. The offense should be potent, the defense will need to prove itself. Go Blue!

To add to the post above, Grant was in the audience but not on court. Curious as to the reason. Also, from what I heard Jenni is still recovering from injury. Slowly getting there.
