A coaching friend said Cole and Dennis both went into the portal but I cannot confirm? Any other Hawks?

Moravec would be a true loss. She has a bit of funky mechanics, but has true potential. She is the one 1 would not want to lose.

A coaching friend said Cole and Dennis both went into the portal but I cannot confirm? Any other Hawks? I would say you could trust your friends info about Cole and Dennis. Aside from the senior day participants with an extra year, I haven't heard of anyone else. Best guess on how the roster plays out: OH Michelle Urquhart OH Nataly Moravec OH Alyssa Worden OH Gabby Deery M Maddy Hanson M Rosa Vesty M Anna Davis S Kaia Mateo L/DS/OH Emily Lavin L Olivia Lombardi Davis has already graduated - her coming back probably depends on if Iowa has a field she's interested in for grad school. Lavin was enrolled to come to Iowa as a student and when Nia Washington left, she joined the team to provide depth...not sure if she'll be interested in continuing. Lombardi is a walk on like Lavin, she might enjoy being part of the team and want to come back. Interested to see what the freshman (Worden, Mateo, Deery & Vesty) do. They really need 5 solid players - 2 backrow, setter, middle, and pin. Urquhart, Moravec, Hanson, & Davis already transferred once, wouldn't they have to sit out a year if they did again?

Yes, I believe without some sort of hardship, they would have to sit one year.

think y’all might be bringing Arizona lib, Joy Galles, on board for her last season. passed a 2.14 standing next to literally 0 other people that could pass even a 2

Claire Ammerral—setter Central Michigan—is in the portal and being followed by Iowa VB. I was impressed with her when we played them. I told my daughter she would look good in black and gold during the match. You never know. This is one to watch for sure. There is no way they'd have 3 setters on scholarship however. Guessing Meitzler would not get a full 4 years. Also, I would expect at least 2 libero/ds types as Cole and Dennis are not likely to be back. I would say there are 4 possibilities for backrow help so far. Cautiously holding out hope for an athletic pin & middle as well. Or maybe Mateo doesn't stay? I truly don't have any inside scoop so please don't read into it that I do, but I wouldn't be surprised if there might be honest conversations with her about realistic court time in setter role should she stay with the team. Kaia is super athletic and I love her on-court demeanor, but some essential setting skills just didn't manifest this season.

I mean yall didn’t have a libero above a 1.97🙃 but yeah the defense can be a struggle sometimes. but she loves to get better and if y’all have a healthy environment in the gym, she should thrive. her sophomore year at Arizona, she was pushing Kamaile Hiapo (current BYU libero) to the brink with their numbers, but she got in her own head after some coaching stuff at the time.

With Barnes only being at Iowa for 2 years, he has already had 7 players transfer out with a potential of adding 3 more to that list. He has an overall record of 18-45. What could we possibly do to turn this program around?

Sounds exactly the opposite of Dennis and Darling. They were better defensively while struggling to pass. Appreciate the insight & quit picking on the Hawks in the bottom 10😂✌️

If true, this Libero would be a big pickup for Iowa. I thought she held the Arizona passing together many times. Nice athlete too.
