I mentally bookmarked this post awhile back for Illinois reasons. Do you happen to know if that camp has taken place yet? I'm trying to cobble together intel on which outside hitter(s) the Illini might be targeting. Are there obvious positions the Hawks are actively recruiting in the 2025 class? Camp was June 8th & 9th. Without knowing who was actually there & going off who plays for the club, my guess would be Chloe Meester. They also have a lefty Opp who has really developed this year, Sydney Maue. Her best volleyball seems to be ahead of her. Thanks to you and hawkfan for the insight! Best wishes to Iowa during this recruitment cycle! |

I'm curious to see if the McGrew commitment helps on the recruiting front. She played for Gainesville Juniors before moving to Oklahoma. Some other prospects Iowa is after congratulated her on the announcement. I believe her dad is on the OU football staff.

Interesting that Illinois coach Chris Tamas will be at Adrenaline volleyball club in Cedar Rapids as a guest coach for their elite prospect camp. 2025 OH Chloe Meester plays for that club and will garner high interest in June. They likely were going after Meester but she is headed far from home. Hawks need a Leftside and Middle. McGrew was a great start!! Looks like most players are waiting until after nationals to make a decision. I suspect July 10-20 we will see a bunch of commitments across the board. |

Hoping there will be a write-up soon on hawkeyesports.com that spotlights/welcomes the six 2023 newcomers/signees who haven't already been featured in a story like this one below from last November on Worden, Mateo and Deery. Team is back this week & looks like media pictures are starting to show up on Instagram. I got an email regarding season tickets today with a brief message from Coach Barnes discussing the roster, number of home matches, etc. Not a bad idea but the video seemed rushed and definitely didn't look professionally done.

But Mateo was there this spring, too, and he counted her as someone "new" to the team so that doesn't match from approach standpoint. Looking forward to seeing the pics and videos. Wonder if they will have new uniforms this fall. |
