That’s a big statement for a team that has lost 5 starters including their top player, and they won only 10 matches. If they beat Iowa State that would be a major upset with all the unknowns. Iowa is still a BIG 10 team and those preseason opponents are doable. Can’t default to losing 5 starters etc etc. although I do agree about Iowa state. Keep the faith! Nothing magical about being in the B1G that gets you wins. IA needs to keep improving. Judge progress at the end of the season. IMO this early in Coach Barnes' tenure a lot more than W-L needs to be considered in any evaluation. GO HAWKS! |

Check the Wisconsin 2023 thread. We're thinking she'll look good in Madison, but better Iowa than Nebraska!

Looks like Iowa is bringing Bailey Ortega and Delaney McSweeney to B1G Media Days. I just saw that. Two Iowa girls with great stories. They both will have to play big this year. They were impressive in the spring scrimmage. |

Interesting that Illinois coach Chris Tamas will be at Adrenaline volleyball club in Cedar Rapids as a guest coach for their elite prospect camp. 2025 OH Chloe Meester plays for that club and will garner high interest in June. Coach Becker (Aubrey) will also be there. I mentally bookmarked this post awhile back for Illinois reasons. Do you happen to know if that camp has taken place yet? I'm trying to cobble together intel on which outside hitter(s) the Illini might be targeting. Are there obvious positions the Hawks are actively recruiting in the 2025 class? |

Without knowing who was actually there & going off who plays for the club, my guess would be Chloe Meester. They also have a lefty Opp who has really developed this year, Sydney Maue. Her best volleyball seems to be ahead of her. |
