One of SoCal's best middles Kendra Duffey is headed to PSU. Class of 22. Alisa Niguel HS, one of the perennial state powerhouses. Great server, decent defender, and she hits the snot out of the ball. I've seen her play quite a few times and I love her willingness to hit the ball hard even if there's a blocker. She can hit like a dude. Duffey could be really good.

No shade, but these aren’t “dude” hits.

They've won the conference 4 times in the past 6-7 years and have a CIF chip in that time too. To me that's a powerhouse. Maybe we differ on definition of powerhouse. If this were college, they'd be the similar to UW, UCLA, and better than Minnesota, Baylor, Florida and a bunch of of powerhouse universities.

It's a shame if Aliso Niguel doesn't get to play this year. On paper this is their best team since Ruddins and Plummer in 2014. Aliso Niguel has had one good year out of the last 20, back in 2014. They finished #8 in state and #74 nationally in 2014, and lost in the first round of state playoffs. They do not have another state top ten finish. From 2014 to 2019, 7 different California teams have finished nationally in the top ten, and all 7 have at least one other finish in the national top 20. Those are your powerhouse teams. Over the last 6 years there are 24 different California schools that each have at least 1 higher national finish than Aliso Niguel in 2014.
