If we are talking specifically of Washington situation, given the recruiting attention to a variety of 2022 players I've heard about, I highly doubt that Cook PLANS/PLANNED on giving one or two schollies in 2022. As long as the NCAA hasn't expanded the 2022 scholarship limit, he's only got one to give (Hani), assuming either Mikkelson or Wilson will be on scholarship. Easier to recruit for 2023, with three starting spots open (S, OH, MB), than for 2022, with none. I'll respond in our own thread since this is pretty program specific for 2022.

Shady, but not historically true about UW. If the same situation I'm thinking of, she was given the chance to greyshirt, but she chose not to. What I was referring to was offering someone and then, if she accepts, driving someone else off the roster to make room.

she needs to develop a bit more power on her shots, but this is a good one! the LA school recruiting is on FIRE! just like the rest of LA OH wow. Funny, but unfortunately very true, esp. today. Smoke everywhere can't even breathe outside.

Hurta, Katie (Indiana) - 8 Are you awarding points for making GYNT? Yes. Some things I did - and still tinkering. I gave 1 point for any OH or S. I just think that those 2 positions are more impactful. I gave 1 point to the foreign players - one with Wisconsin and one with Utah. Still not sure what/how to factor in foreign players. I gave 3 points to anyone that was drafted in the Volley_High coaches draft top 20 and then 2 points if drafted in the T30. 1 point for HM. I gave 2 points for GYNT. I like the idea of using GYNT - but how often does a player skip GYNT for personal choice? I put a lot of value on that VH coaches draft and then GYNT when separating the top players. So someone like Jordan Middleton who was #8 in the coaches draft or Averi Carlson #10, but not GYNT is valued pretty high - and then Ella Rubin who is both GYNT and #5 (top player in coaches draft) gets a boost from what looks like a under rank from PV. Wucherer hits all the buttons - #2 in the class in coaches draft. #3 in PV rank. OH, GYNT. Kahahawai hits all 3, but at slightly lower rankings than Wucherer. And then someone like Dacosta is getting 100% of her points from PV.

Anyone heard anything about Kahahawai’s recruitment? Any chance she stays home or do we think she’ll come to the mainland for college?

And Wurcherer coming out on top is, in my opinion, an indication that it's heading in the right direction. Regarding foreign players, is it too time consuming to reward them based on their accomplishments with their national team? Say 6 points for senior national team experience (Parra at Texas for example), 4 points for U-20 competition and 2 points for Girl's Youth level? We've discussed this previously, but I still feel that once players get to college their PV points should be dropped from BI completely and replaced with things like CNT experience or conference accolades (with more weight given to more recent achievements, so a 2019 AA HM is worth more in 2020, than a 2018 one). PV are ranking based on potential and when players are actually in college, it is time to turn that into performance. Ashley Shook etc contributing 8 points every year while not seeing the floor distorts the rankings imo.
