should be a fun club season! Flickinger is the best 4 point player in that 18U division I like the following squads to be among the top 5 by season end- TAV, Coast, Skyline, Mintonnette, Top Select 1st Team Prediction: OH- Endsley OH- Wenaas RS- Londot S- Wait MB- Smith MB- Radar L- Iosia 2nd Team Prediction: OH- Fitzpatrick OH- Debeer RS- Ndiyae S/OH- Rutherford MB- Crawford MB- Miller L- Lots of options!

Prep VB released it's preseason 18's rankings....not too much difference from black ink. Just throwing out convo here but I didn't predict Long Beach to be top 5 by season end because I think the 18's can actually serve away from the libero. Iosia is a rock back there, no question about it, but I think some of the other teams have a bit more ball control across the entire line and more proven terminators at the pins. I think Terry could be the X factor for Mintonnette, she has improved tons. Coast's biggest thing will be the setting. If Wilson can come in and be a consistent setter, this team will be pretty darn hard to beat with the addition of Lougeay in the back row and another terminator on the LS. I watched a number of matches last year where Coast would give up tons of points when Endsley rotated to the back row. If that's no longer an issue, it's just going to come down to the margins against the top teams. TAV actually gets BETTER with Williams out and Wenaas in as all they really need is ball control and Wenaas provides more of that than Williams does (by a mile). A. Smith pretty much lost her starting spot last year to Okammor, so her leaving isn't really a loss. They could easily repeat. Any team with Ndiaye on it is money. She (and Flickinger) was pretty much the difference maker in all of TAV's big matches last year (which is kind of hard to do given all the talent). Top Select rounded out my top 5 by season end because Blake seemingly gets it done where the whole is greater than the sum of the parts and Paris Thompson is a quality 2021 pin to compliment Fitzpatrick. They are probably among the top 5 OH duo's for the 18's this year, and that should mean something. Sting will mostly depend on how well Wucherer can do in 18's but a really high ceiling for this team!

I thought Mintonnette got some good production from the "role players" in the final day of Music City. Stokes was passing well and delivered some bombs. They have an undersized middle too (Boyle), but she's pretty dynamic.
Macie Garrison looks like a better setting prospect than her committed school (Jacksonville State)

Am I reading the qualifying entries right where Coast is only trying to qualify for open in one event (SVCA). Seems risky considering it's the last qualifier of the season and there are a ton of other really good teams at this qualifier. Same for Mizuno Long Beach?.... hmmmm

Not that a team like COAST needs 'help' in qualifying.

If there are a lot of teams capable of upsets in the non gold round, that could spell trouble for finishing top 8.

Added Houston Juniors. They didn't crack the top 15 - but with Ally Batenhorst they are interesting.
