I am uncertain about Vargas being a Turkish Citizen in time. President of Turkish Volleyball Federation said that they didn't give it a try for Vargas and they won't. Vargas is not an option. So this just means she isn't a viable option until she is a citizen. Is she still trying for citizenship or no?

I thought about Aylin Sarioglu but since Hande Baladin has improved her passing by a decent margin and for that matter so has Erbar Karakurt...I feel that bringing a defensive specialist at this point is moot, especially when Aylin passed as bad as she did during last years pro league at Fenerbahce. She was a liability the entire season.

I am uncertain about Vargas being a Turkish Citizen in time. I put her down just to see what the roster looks like and you can bet that if she makes the deadline she will be on the roster. If not then I can see Guidetti taking (OH) Seyma Ercan or (DS) Aylin Sarioglu. How long is the waiting period before a player is allowed to represent another country? Another rumored topic last month was that France made an offer to one of Brazil's rising youth, Ana Cristina de Souza (2004) who took part in the 2019 U20 and U18 tournaments. They proposed her education and her parents a career in turn with a possibility of representing France in the 2024 Paris Olympics. www.volleyball.it/verso-parigi-2024-la-francia-scippa-ana-cristina-al-brasile/That’s juicy info. I also wonder if Haak decides to join the French WVT given that one of her parents is French. 🧐

For all the talk over the last 10 years of foreign-born players taking a Turkish citizenship and playing for Turkey, who exactly did they actually got to play for them? Meliha, and? Yet, people are doing the same thing over and over again, every good player who doesn't have a "stable NT gig" gets mentioned as a candidate (hell, they even tried to get 14 year old Boskovic).

After a few months of closed training Lang Ping finally accepted an interview since this whole situation and gave an update.
From Google Translate:
Reporter: With the postponement of the Olympic Games, how has the training center of the Chinese volleyball team changed?
Lang Ping: If this happens, everyone will have to face this reality, and we have to immediately adjust our goals. This is also an even long term goal for the Chinese women's volleyball team at next year's Tokyo Olympics, as well as our creation of some young players and the improvement of personal skills. It is a particularly good accumulation.
R: During this time, how does the team pay close attention to the details of basic skills and attach the importance of physical fitness and strength training?
LP: The training of basic skills is endless, because the opponents are also improving, we not only have to improve, but also increase the speed of improvement compared with the opponent.
R: If there is no epidemic situation, the Chinese women's volleyball team is now participating in the Women's Volleyball Nations League. Suddenly there are no games, how does this affect the team?
LP: Our athletes are used to the combination of training and competition. Suddenly there is no competition. We need to do the job of athletes. Everyone will be emotionally exhausted, that is if you don't see the competition come, you have an impact on the goal. Suddenly this is flat, I feel when I am ahead, I feel that I can't compete with my opponents in training, with no reference.
R: During these months of training, the volleyball team will have weekly simulation classes, and there will also be competitions with one another.
LP: As a Chinese women's volleyball team, there is no escape route, and there is no saying that to main training and practice, to encourage morale, everyone quickly turned to a different direction.

Serbia's NT will start training next week in Belgrade as restrictions begin to loosen.
S: Ognjenovic, Zivkovic, Mirkovic OPP: Boskovic, Bjelica OH: Mihajlovic, Busa, Blagojevic, Milenkovic, Lazovic, Lozo MB: Rasic, Veljkovic, M. Popovic, Aleksic L: Pusic
Interesting that their main libero S. Popovic wasn't listed. Probably will take an extended break then join later.

Could Alex Jupiter return to indoor for 2024?

Isn't the 2020 international season cancelled? Also won't the pro leagues be starting earlier this year?

I wonder why they are all gathering to train? Isn't the 2020 international season cancelled? Also won't the pro leagues be starting earlier this year? Which leagues will start early this year? I haven't read anything about that. I think it's a good idea even though this season is practically done. Getting the team training together in the gym is much more effective than having them do it at home alone. It'll definitely help the players stay in form after their club seasons were cut short. Serbia only has a couple positions that are still undecided, them training now will help see who's motivated to fill those last spots. I guess the only question now is for how long will they do it. China's been training since February and they haven't stopped even after they anounced VNL is cancelled. The players must be exhausted by now. Japan on the other hand I think stopped training about a month ago.

Japan on the other hand I think stopped training about a month ago. The FIVB announced that professional leagues could start as early as June if they feel they can do it safely. All pro leagues have to be done by the end of April. This obviously doesn't affect China and Japan's leagues as they will be finished by end of January. I guess I am just curious if you think other leagues will wait until October to start or do you expect them to start in July/August which would in fact be very early?
