In the japanese league, she will still be training extensively on passing, whether she passes in a match or not, and she will be hitting against excellent defenders which might help to improve her shot selection and attacking in general, so perhaps all is not lost. I agree. I think it will be a net positive for her game. Just not necessarily for trying to be an OH for the US NT. Opposite is perhaps a different story.

I was hoping for a post-Karch revival soon, but it looks like we have to wait another year. Thanks coronavirus.

ballislifeThe supporting facts are the history of international volleyball and the Japanese League. She played better as opp in Italy, plus they use the molten ball in Italy. No adjustment needed. volleyguyMihajlovic improved a lot her passing in Japan, right. LMAO.

Have you ever seen a practice in the japanese league?

Plummer going to Japan may not be what's best for her, but it's still way better than sitting on a bench for a whole season in Italy. If she goes to Monza, with Bricio, Orthman, Van Heck and Meijners already there, I don't see her getting much time on the court.

Didn't a Turkish club make an offer for Plummer also or was that false?

Have you ever seen a practice in the japanese league? Why would Mihajlovic not want to improve her reception? She’s a starting OH on a team whose literal only weakness is reception and floor defense and she knows that her Opp won’t sver be covering her. Practice and match experience executing a skill are very different. Japan was a career gaffe for her, just like it was for Lee and like it would be for Plummer if she’s interested in being an OH. I think she should pursue OH but I know people have different opinions on this. Of all American athletes she got shafted most by the pandemic, because during her time at Monza she played different roles and didn’t get settled enough to show off her akills, and doesn’t seem like any Italian squads (of the ones that still have budgets) want to take risks on young unproven talents.

Mihajlovic and Plummer are at opposite places in their career. Mihajlovic isn't a bubbly, bright-eyed pro newbie. She's at the peak or just past the peak of her career. She didn't go to Japan to improve her passing, she went there to make a ton money to help secure her future. I'm not being critical in saying that, it is a sensible thing to do. Plummer had good days and bad days at Monza. She obviously has good potential, but she also has a lot to work on.

That’s what’s wrong here, you and a bunch of other people think you know what’s best for her. Have I said anything about "what's best for her"? All I said is that Japan MAY NOT be what's best for her but better than staying on the bench in Italy. This is an open volleyball forum, we can freely express our opinions as long as we abide by the rules and don't hurt anyone. As a USAV fan and a fan of Plummer, my whole argument is simply that playing full-time is better for her development. I want to see her as a starter in Italy, but if that's not possible given the situation, I'd love to see her playing in Japan. What's wrong with that? And even if someone here explicitly says what he/she thinks is best for Plummer, that's also okay. It's just a volleyball opinion. Plummer herself is not going to listen to or even see what people post here. But volleyball fans can still say any reasonable, volleyball-related stuff.

Bartsch is rumored to have renewed with Vakifbank. I thought it is confirmed? I just saw she reposted an IG story with her in Vakif jersey, is that sort of an official announcement?
