Karch himself. Kidding. Just a hunch Maybe some of the vets who were planning on playing in a shorter league will opt out and just stay here to train, I could see Larson doing that. Maybe MBH if she doesn't go to Eczacibasi or Imoco. Akinradewo for sure will stay.

This could lead to a significant drop in the level of play from any who stay state side. That's a risky move in the year before an Olympics especially for players who were out due to pregnancy/injury and regardless of pending retirement. I don't like that....one bit.

For Akinradewo's case, I don't think going abroad is even an option with her new baby and all that's going on.

Who knows what will be going on by then.

If she goes to Japan, we can pretty much say goodbye to her playing OH.

If she goes to Japan, we can pretty much say goodbye to her playing OH. Why? It's how Japanese league works. Her reception is not as good as local players. Her team won't let her pass. Possibly she will play as OH without receiving. Like Mihajlovic. Going to Japan would be the worst possibility for her. No experience as real OH or Opp.

In the japanese league, she will still be training extensively on passing, whether she passes in a match or not, and she will be hitting against excellent defenders which might help to improve her shot selection and attacking in general, so perhaps all is not lost.

No other graduating US player had a better half a season or whatever it was. Make the money, who cares what people think, there’s never a guarantee of making an Olympic team.

Mihaljlovic playing a non-passing role is a supporting fact... It's an educated guess based on plenty of empirical evidence. There's a reason you don't see Hill, Larson, Robo, etc. playing in Japan - they have plenty of good passing outsides. They are missing tall terminators. I would bet substantial money on them slotting Katherine Plummer into a non-passing role. No Japanese team is going to want to waste league games on letting her "develop her passing" when they aren't hiring her to pass.
