That would be great if Foecke did play for AU. Wonder if Kenzie Maloney would as well? That is if they have a season next year.

Firenze will take legal actions against Foecke.
She should just play, it’s just few months. Italy is now safer than US.

From the club:
Company confirmation has also arrived: Mikaela Foecke will not return to play in Florence. The company issued a statement on the matter, announcing that it wanted to return to the market and that it had given a mandate to its lawyer to take the necessary actions. "Il Bisonte Firenze informs that on 9 July, a few hours after the widely scheduled departure for the retreat of Lizzano in Belvedere, the athlete Mikaela Foecke has made known her desire not to return to Italy in view of the next season. Will reconfirmed on July 14, when the American squashing machine also declined the second call. The company, dismayed by the athlete's behavior, has instructed its lawyer to take the necessary actions to protect the image of the Club. The Bisonte Firenze will return to the market trying to repair the technical damage caused by this unilateral, albeit conscious choice of the difficulties given the moment ”.

The Club seems pissed. As the should be. That really wasn't wise of her to wait that late to back out of her contract. The team only signed Anastasia Guerra and Celine Van Gestel as the other Outside Hitters. They didn't sign a fourth. The team only has 4 pin hitters now. That is not a good position to be in as many of the other teams have filled their rosters.

Did we ever find out the resolution of the Kelsie Payne debacle?

Did we ever find out the resolution of the Kelsie Payne debacle? FIVB are still deciding the case.... But im pretty sure Schwerin aren't counting on her coming to Germany (if she's even allowed) The Stanford crew aren't being allow to go to Dresden. Americans aren't being allowed to travel into Germany, lots of visa issues. Gates is able to, but that's because she holds a Irish passport.

I would comment further but that would involve politics and that is a no no on here.

In Italy most of the teams are starting to practise (you still can't do much in training because of the rules but you need to start somehow) but a lot of American players are missing because of visa issues. AFAIK only Hancock and Mckenzie Adams were able to arrive in Italy. Hopefully the others will get there soon.

Italy is not safer than rural Iowa/Nebraska Density-wise? Yeah. Safe practices? I doubt it. I wouldn't generalize a group of people like that.

Density-wise? Yeah. Safe practices? I doubt it. I wouldn't generalize a group of people like that. That wasn’t necessarily a dig at Iowa or Nebraska. I would say Italy, as a whole, is taking the virus much more seriously than most of the United States. How much of this is individual practice versus government shutdown? Hard to tell. But looking at the numbers... Italy has a 7-day moving average of 198 daily new cases (as of yesterday). Iowa has a 7-day moving average of 546 daily new cases. Nebraska has a 7-day moving average of 217 daily new cases. Especially given population size, I don’t think Iowa or Nebraska is safer than Italy right now. (Btw not trying to turn this political or anything, so I won’t post on this further.)
