I agree with Reach, I was at a handful of Serie A matches last season and Monza did a poor job of transferring capable passer attackers. I will agree that Skorupa has never been a dynamic mover, but she has a very good mind for the position and is still a much higher quality setter than Selinger Swenson with a much larger resume of success in some of Europe's best competitions. In my opinion this a a blessing. I have a hard time seeing Selinger Swenson moving past a Polish, German or French league. Why do you think?

It isn't a rumor. It is official. That is so unfortunate. I will say that if SSS does eventually get over there, she will likely start ahead of Skorupa. The Polish vet didn't hold her place on court that well last season with Monza. She is clearly in the twilight of her career. Woah... I disagree. Monza has terrible passing. Skorupa can still Ball... SSS is still new to international ball We'll just have to see what happens if SSS even gets overseas. So many Americans are having visa difficulties. I am curious though....isn't part of what makes a good setter being able to chase down and put up the best ball possible?

In short, Selinger-Swenson is the NFL quarterback that doesn't go through their progressions, they have her eye on one receiver and think the faster they throw the ball the more difficult if becomes to defend. The second part of the problem is that she often sacrifices distance for speed which I believe is a lower body strength issue. The ball she sets to the pins in the French league are blocks in the top leagues. If you take a closer look at where those faster sets get dug because they are too far inside, or what types of errors the opposite is making, you can point to a distance issue. Faster inside sets usually result in a block or block touch, a higher percentage of balls hit to middle back, and balls hit out of bounds either toward the corners or wide of the 10 foot line. This is not just a SSS problem, this is a problem for the large majority of NCAA setters.
With that being said, this is a less than lateral transfer. I could argue that if you removed Chemik form the Polish league, that the French league is stronger. GM's and coaches in the top and second tier leagues are not nearly as patient with American setters (see Raskie) as they are with European setters. That is why you will see GM's and coaches in the top leagues often opt to go with a younger domestic setter over an NCAA setter.
IMO She will have to make significant changes to her game if the goal is to transfer to a top league.

What about the incessant gum chomping? How does that go over in Europe😉

Translated from DSC page. The US additions to Dresdner SC landed at Dresden Airport yesterday and today. This enables the DSC managers to breathe a sigh of relief that the newcomers Jenna Gray, Morgan Hentz and Madeleine Gates have arrived in Dresden. The association benefited from weeks of preparation and coordination with the responsible authorities.
The entry to Germany was long unclear for the Dresdner SC and the US newcomers and had cost the DSC managers a few nerves in the past few weeks. The reason for this: the existing entry restrictions for US citizens in the Schengen area and thus to Germany. After intensive efforts, entry was possible and now Morgan Hentz, Jenna Gray and Madeleine Gates have finally arrived. The players immediately enter quarantine at home.
Bad news despite entry permit
However, the joy was clouded by an unexpected message that diagonal attacker Audriana Fitzmorris's arrival made it impossible. Because immediately before her departure, an earlier injury to the diagonal attacker Audriana Fitzmorris on her hip and shoulder had developed again as part of her preparation. As a result, the 21-year-old has to undergo surgery. After intensive consultation, the association and Audriana Fitzmorris agreed by mutual consent to terminate the 21-year-old's contract with immediate effect.
“Of course neither we nor Audriana expected that. We are very sorry for Audriana, because we know how much she was looking forward to playing in Dresden, "head coach Alexander Waibl is visibly disappointed with this unexpected development, which presents the club with a new, major challenge:" It is questionable whether an adequate replacement for Audriana can still be found, because the situation on the transfer market so shortly before the start of the season is of course always difficult. ”
Due to the domestic quarantine of the American women, the coaching team led by Alexander Waibl must continue to train with a reduced squad. The national players Jennifer Geerties and Maja Storck will only join the team in the coming weeks.
Background information on the entry problem: The intensive efforts will ultimately be rewarded
With tenacity and in close cooperation with the federal police and the responsible authorities, the Dresdner SC had created in advance the framework conditions that made entry into Germany possible for the US newcomers. Nevertheless, the DSC officers had to fear until departure whether the measures taken would allow the players to get on the plane at all. In the end, the intensive preparation paid off, because both the departure in the USA and the arrival in Munich and Frankfurt went smoothly for all players. Immediately after being picked up at Dresden Airport, the athletes underwent a corona test and went into quarantine at home.
"We are overjoyed that Jenna, Madeleine and Morgan have finally landed in Dresden. It has been a long and rocky road to this day, and we have received a lot of support from the responsible authorities. In addition, there was a close exchange in the Volleyball Bundesliga and with other team sports. That was exceptional teamwork, ”reports DSC managing director Sandra Zimmermann and adds:“ While the player is in quarantine at home, the US players undergo several COVID tests. With the test result, we are trying to obtain an exemption from the health authority, with which the players can spend a shortened quarantine and start training promptly. We act cautiously and wisely because the health of the players and the team are paramount. ”

Romania is adjacent to several Eastern European countries that produce good players but don't have any teams that pay as well as a couple of their top ones, which helps a lot. I think Carmen Turlea was the last elite Romanian player. I was curious when the last big name to come from Romania was active. I think the team did decently at the last European Championships. I don't recall seeing a ton of their players playing outside of the domestic league though. There is indeed not a lot but for example 17 y/o Alexia Ioana Carutasu was playing for AtlasGlobal Yeşilyurt last season in the Turkish league and will be playing again this year + Challenge Cup, they even ended up 5th in the league and she was only 16 last year, full-time starter. She is however a special case that grew up with VakifBanks youth team where they made place for her and she moved away from Romania at a very young age with that, I wouldn't be surprised if she eventually ends up changing nationality.

I meant to post this a while back. Micaya White will be playing for RC Cannes in the French Ligue A1! This is a decent team where she will surely make an impact.

Do we have any idea when any of the international leagues will start?
With the current state of college volleyball, I'll be happy to follow pro ball more closely this fall.

In soccer, a super cup is typically last season's league champion against the cup champion in a single game. Why does this have 4 rounds? Due to covid messing things up last year, the league is including all teams from last season minus the top two seeds (Conegliano and Busto Arsizio) in the first round. Busto joins the bracket in the 2nd round and Conegliano get a direct ticket to the final 4.
