Look the club season is over. We’re not to the point of calling it off just yet, but deep down I think we all know it’s over. Soon enough it will be time say an unexpected goodbye to our seniors who will never get that final chance to play together, scramble to make up the recruiting opportunities our underclassmen will miss out on, and make sure we give all of the proper refunds to parents.
But for the love of god can USAV stop extending this by one week every single gosh darn week. Give it a few more weeks and make a final decision.

The only events I can see getting cancelled are Adult nationals. Girls nationals because the qualifiers never happened Girls 18 nationals they allocated bids to teams in each region already! The best news was when they moved girls 18 right before boys. I think boys nationals has a chance to run. The president would have to open up the country after April 30th "like may 1st" Usa won't cancel boys until about mid to late may. I can't speak for them but they don't want to cancel who would. They would of lost an entire year or revenue. If the casinos open in May we have hope 30 days is a long time to be shut down! Actually 50 days. But from what I was told they won't cancel until some Time in May if they had to cancel

Remember Red, hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies.

I would say 50/50 at this point, we still have all of May and most of June. The problem is the window is closing for teams to make travel arrangements.

East Coast memorial day is not a go for sure. Virginia has a stay at home order until June 10th. Latest bids can be handed out is June 15th. So if it were to happen would need to be weekend of 13th and 14th. Guessing only regional teams attend then. Travel tournament with a 2 week turn around to Reno would be tough. MVC was sending 8 teams to Richmond this year, we are not going. Hoping we can play again in June in Chicago, but again all up in the air.
Obviously Casino's will need to open in the Reno area as that is a majority of hotels, but what will their capacity's be. Will the pools be open?
I am a very optimistic person, but do not have a good feeling about this one.

I'm just hoping things are back to normal by Fall for the 20-21 season.

Not USAV, but... NCVA cancelled the balance of their season. It's not explicit as to boys/girls, but it looks damn definitive. mailchi.mp/ncva/2020season

I'm sure this announcement relates only to the girls season. There really isn't a boy's season for the NCVA between now and the fall. I would not be concerned this effects BJNC, which is a USAV event (at least for now).

I would not be surprised if all summer events (local summer tournaments, BJNC, and USA HPCs) are cancelled due to social distancing, Covid-19 peaks in different areas at different times of the USA, and limited group sizes now and for a period after. The curve is still going up. This is not going away anytime soon. Convention centers and arenas all across the country are being used or prepped for field hospitals. And time is running out to cancel everything. As the weather gets warmer people will get lazy on guidelines set in place to protect them. This is one unforeseen consequence of being a free society. I hope I am wrong. But....

SCVA only has (had?) three one day'ers this year, so not much, but ... something.
