CuBrazil Rebeca Mauleon
One of my favorites. Made its way into the soundtrack of one of my home videos. I created a montage sequence of me and my family going through the Los Angeles County Museum. I used "CuBrazil" as background music.

harlem river drive bobbi humphrey blacks & blues (1973) my mother had this vinyl growing up, and i've always liked when she played it. i wanted to take it once i moved out, but resisted, and told myself to find it while hunting for vinyl records. finally found a copy in decent condition in columbia, sc a couple of years ago. went to listen to it today because the weather is kinda dreary here in coastal georgia and it is good music for that.

I always had a hard time thinking of the Pat Metheny Group as a true jazz group, but I always thought this was a cool and memorable tune:

"Take Five" is a jazz standard composed by Paul Desmond. It was first recorded in 1959 and is the third track on Time Out by the Dave Brubeck Quartet.[1][2] Frequently covered by a variety of artists, the track is the biggest-selling jazz song of all time and a Grammy Hall of Fame inductee. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Take_FiveI just learned tonight that the great Dave Brubeck did not know how to read music. I’m stunned. I love this scat version by Al Jarreau:

I always had a hard time thinking of the Pat Metheny Group as a true jazz group, but I always thought this was a cool and memorable tune: The very first Pat Metheny tune I heard was "Are You Going With Me" back in the early 1980s. While this tune was going on and on, I remember thinking, Boy, this thing doesn't end!!!! I was so mesmerized.

"Do It Again" Bobby Sanabria Multiverse Big Band 2023
This is a cover of the song made famous by Steely Dan. ---
Here's the original. To this day, I can't believe "Do It Again" was originally released in 1972 because, to me, it sounds so modern.

I love everything done by Al Jarreau. ‘Time Out’ is one of the few jazz discs I have. It is my fave. You're missing out, bub. If you want to belong to the Cool Cats Club, you need to listen to more jazz, man.
