I'm still curious how these outlets are getting the 17,000 number. That sounds like a big exaggeration, even if you count both waves of teams who well never be in the building at the same time. The article said 500 teams (old info) It also said 15 players, 5 coaches, and 10 chaperones... 30 per team. 500 x 30 is 15,000 for the teams. Then add in support staff (refs, scorekeepers, etc). Not saying it’s correct or accurate, but that was likely the math used.

For 16 Open, try Tribe 16 Elite Brett vs San Antonio Juniors 16. They seem to be scrapping pretty hard.

Is anybody able to share the experience from the OCCC floor? Curious how the entry process has been flowing, general sense of spacing and safety precautions.

Once your group is ready it takes about 5 minutes to go through. At least for our groups. The courts are spaced every other slot where a normal AAU setup would be.

Noticed there are no flags and that coaches are the R2 with players doing lines. Cannot hear the e-whistle through the video feed, but looks like both teams know that the whistle was used.

The refs get a new ball and scoreboard for every match. It is not as loud as it normally is at AAUs, so the e-whistles no issues there.

Although not our sport, apparently there is a very large AAU basketball event going on right now in Atlanta as well. Anyone mentioned that? Sorry if I'm repeating someone else.

I only watched the previews a few times.
Are they still shaking hands? I saw some high 5’s and the normal grabbing of hands when subbing in and out.
I’m guessing teammates are in such direct contact they see this as a non issue.
