Let me know how many options Oregon has as of tonight. I agree that nobody "wants" to go to the Big 12. But, beggars can't be choosers. For the record, I don't think the Big 12 will have Oregon at the top of its wish list for expansion. Colorado, Utah, Arizona, and Arizona State will be much better geographic fits, and bring in larger TV markets than Oregon. I think you might be wrong about Oregon. While the B1G and SEC probably don’t have spot for them I am sure the Big12 certainly would. They will do anything to stay relevant, Nike/Phil Knight and his ties to Oregon will keep the Big12 relvant as much as any single school/person can make them. Knight’s ability to give NIL deals for the conference Oregon is in alone should keep Oregon the number one target of the Big12. My understanding is the university system in Oregon wants to keep Oregon AND Oregon State in the same conference. . . We’ll see how it goes. . . NIL money keeps Oregon in ALL conference discussions, imo. UO and OSU are independent institutions. The university system in Oregon had been disbanded for several years. Not sure where your understanding comes from.

You have 3 members in the Eastern time zone in West Virginia, Cincinnati, and Central Florida; so, inviting a school from the northwest definitely impacts travel more for them versus inviting Colorado, Utah, Arizona, and Arizona State. Colorado brings the Denver TV market, and is in relatively decent driving distance to Big 12 schools like Kansas, Kansas State, and Oklahoma State. Utah could mean BYU and the Utes are finally in the same conference. Inviting Arizona and Arizona State together makes more sense to me than inviting Oregon who would be sitting out on an island all by itself (kind of like Central Florida already will be).

If the Desert and Mountain schools would rather be in the Big XII than the PAC-10 setup minus UCLA and USC, then they would probably have already left.

If the Desert and Mountain schools would rather be in the Big XII than the PAC-10 setup minus UCLA and USC, then they would probably have already left. This is where things stand now: - Texas and Oklahoma announced they are leaving the Big 12 for the SEC; Big 12 adds Cincinnati, Houston, Central Florida, and BYU. So, back up to 12 schools, which includes a football playoff game (more TV revenue for conference). Will most likely try to poach 4 schools from the PAC 12 to move up to 16 member schools (like the SEC, B1G, and ACC). - USC and UCLA announced they are leaving the PAC 12. PAC 12 down to 10 schools; no school who moves the needle at all left to add, unless the PAC 12 decides they want to poach some Texas or Kansas schools from the Big 12. Doubtful to me they can poach 6 schools to get up to 16 members (like the ACC, B1G, and SEC). Both conferences with new commissioners. One conference will get the better of the other, IMO. And, the one who is left shorthanded (in members) will be in huge trouble.

holy sht lol at a loss for words for how sad this is but ok, congrats? Once you recover from being at a loss for words, I'm sure you can now answer your own (slightly altered) question: Why would California schools agree to join a conference where they would have to travel almost 3,000 miles and 3 time zones to play West Virginia Maryland? Or even 2,000 miles and 2 time zones to play Iowa State?

PAC 12 conference was in financial trouble 2 years ago compared to the other P5 conferences. That certainly remains the case now.

It’s a new level of pathetic, I’ll give the troll that Your words were pathetic and stupid 2 years ago; you just couldn't see it back then. I think you clearly see it now.
