I don’t have a link, but my daughter got an email from the assignor this morning that WCC is postponed Just a 'report', but from a blue check mark reporter who works for The Athletic:

NYIT (ECC, NCAA D2) shut down all sports and the athletic department for at least the next 2 years. Wow.

Do believe this will prove to be a harbinger, and a tip-of-the-iceberg, of things to come! Hm, I actually don’t think this. I can see D1s dropping to D2 or D3. But I really think this only kinda works because they waited SO long to announce and left their current student athletes without a reasonable way to transfer. At a small school like this, athletics helps with enrollment. So yeah, it costs money to pay coaches, travel, etc., but of their 275ish varsity athletes, a large majority of them are probably only at the school because they were given the opportunity to play sports. Adding 230 students boosts the school’s revenue by a lot. I guess I don’t know much about NYIT. Their college rankings are pretty mediocre. But if their campus is at capacity and they think they can keep it at capacity without athletics, then it makes sense. But that would surprise me.

D3 Administrative Committee recommends not competing in the fall termsummary: The D3 Admin Comm takes a shot across the bow of schools that are thinking of playing. Warning them that they better be up front with their students about health concerns and importantly, health insurance, and who is going to pay for any needed health care. they also announced they have adopted noncontroversial legislation saying schools can not require student-athletes to waive legal rights regarding COVID-19 as a condition to play.
