She is phenominal. I did a small summary about her and a few other 2024's in the 2022 Club season thread.

With all the transfer portal grabs, will 2024s even be recruited by the top schools? I’ve got a libero so that makes it even harder. But looking at the top 5-10 schools, will they even bother with 2024s? For example, Nebraska due to recent events (transfer portal being part of that) had some uncertainty in the middle. With the depth chart uncertainty, if they opted to bring in Hord becuase of being light in the middle and an incoming Freshman. They used the TP to shore up the middle position. I am pretty sure they chose a 5th year for her experience and the mentorship opportunity that presents for the incoming Freshmen etc.. Nebraska's 'uncertainty' in the middle for 2022 is relative. If Caffey is back - their combined MB would be among the top in the country. W/O Caffey - it might only be in the top 15 or so. They will now have a couple of MBs sitting on the bench that would be starting for all but maybe 5 or 6 teams in the country.

You are correct and just solidified the point I was trying to make ( sorry if it was not clear) . The transfer portal will be a contniuous cycle that will open up opportunities for many, both in-going and out-going players.

Add Taylor Yu from San Gabriel Elite as a top setter. Saw her on Monday and she’s got the smoothest sets. Runs an incredibly fast offense and has insane volleyball IQ.

Yeah, what a talent!! Very refined. I Don’t know what her defensive game is like, but she’s got a great future ahead of her. I’m sure she’s getting alot of attention.

The match I saw on Monday, her defense was just as good. She was an absolute standout on a day where I saw a lot of good volleyball.

With all the transfer portal grabs, will 2024s even be recruited by the top schools? I’ve got a libero so that makes it even harder. But looking at the top 5-10 schools, will they even bother with 2024s? By all indications yes. In order to build a strong program across the board, P5 schools will maintain their recruiting strategy but use the transfer portal to fill in gaps (often times caused by the transfer portal). The goal should always be to recruit strong and build from within, but at some point you have a team with stacked talent not being utilized and stiting on the bench. (See Texas , Nebraska, etc.. etc..) those not being fully utilized may opt to be an impact player at another program (transfer portal) which creates opportunities to fill in said gaps. For the forseeable future, the transfer portal will be part of the game and all schools have to play that game. That will not stop schools from recruiting talent. Excepting Stanford of course.

Alex Acevedo (the then 7th grader that committed to Oregon prior to the change) is really good. I got to see her play three matches this weekend playing up with 17s. She gets the lions share of the sets and terminates well. She also passes well and is aggressive defensively. She will be a game changer for the ducks. Watching her hit off Bower (also a '24) on Idaho Crush is a thing of beauty.

Who are the top liberos in this class? As a Texas fan, I am expecting they will probably go after one in 2024.

And stuck with her commitment too from 7th grade?! Shocker in today’s climate.
