Rothe got teed up in a varsity basketball game for dunking during warm ups. You can't do that, apparently. I knew it was a rule in Texas girls' high school basketball. But, now that I think about it, I don't see any players regardless of gender dunking in high school or college basketball pre-game warm-ups.

Who is currently projected as the #1 recruit? There is a mixed bag of rankings due to covid as many could not evaluate during the 15's year for the 2024's until GJNC last year. I can tell you, Skylar Pierce from Dynasty is by all accounts the early number 1 and clearly on Nebraska/Texas and others radar. Carlie Cisneros is a close number 2 (and currently ranked #1 by PV) both pins from Dynasty. Ayden Ames (TAV) is also an early top fave depending on what you read or who you talk to. Tawa is back at Volleyballmag.com has a great recent breakdown of all the standout talent from Triple Crown. Including a good chunk of the 2024's. How unusual would it be for the top 2 players in a class be on the same club team? Then throw in Ryan McAleer who was listed a couple pages ago among the top liberos in the class. It doesn't end there - as from what I saw, Abigail Mullen (RS) is an absolute stud - although in the 2025 class and Tawa mentioned 2025 'athletic' setter Reese Messer. This team appears to have some major D1 talent. Side note - both MBs look like D1 players.

Back when I was playing in the 1980's - this was a technical foul. Both officials would watch warmups - any one dunking would be T'd up. The practical part of this - they didn't want rim bent or damaged in warmups. I wouldn't have been surprised if this had changed with better technology/equipment - but I guess not?

Prep Volleyball has become a joke since Tawa and co left. I had auto renew subscription for over a decade but just canceled that. Don't know if they are just lazy or don't have enough people to actually go watch players at tournaments but their lists these days don't mean jack!

Reminds me of a few rare SPVB teams back in the early 2010's ish and more recent TAV teams. I feel that the 2024 class is on another level that extends well beyond the normal "ususal suspects" as it relates to pockets of talent across the country. Exciting to see and should hopefully build some depth and parity for future NCAA VB

There are several 16s teams that have multiple top future D1 players. Off the top of my head, Dynasty would be joined by TAV, A5, and NKYVC in that regard. There are still solo standouts on teams, like Lauren Harden and Alec Rothe on their teams, for example. But I feel like these “super teams” are becoming more common, especially because these super teams are not strictly 2024s but also drawing from the phenoms of 2025 to form their team.

Do any of these recruits have interest in Wisconsin? I don’t know any of these players personally, so I’m not sure. My daughter knows most of them from NTDP. And I talked to some of the parents during NTDP but we only talked schools generally. I don’t know specifics. Social media might show preferences.

Who is currently projected as the #1 recruit? I don’t know about #1, but these are the names that everyone knows and are followed by all the top schools. These are in no particular order, just off the top of my head. Carlie Cisneros Skyler Pierce Ayden Ames Lauren Harden Alec Rothe Anna Bjork Stella Swenson Julia Hunt Zoe Humphrey I’m gonna sound like a broken record but Favor Anyanwu deserve some recognition as well.

I could expand that list for a round 2 and it would include Favor, Morgan Gaerte, Ryan McAleer, Alivia Skidmore, Reese Wubeker, Ava Falduto, Ella Demetrician, Logan Wiley, Taylor Yu, Janelle Green, Lilly Wagner…the list goes on and on. A ridiculous amount of talent in 2024 Oh frrrr, absolutely ridiculous!!

This is the team that looked the most talented in my memory. Throw in Ping as the coach.

Exciting to see and should hopefully build some depth and parity for future NCAA VB Indeed there are pockets of talent. I live in the NW and although it's not a hotbed of talent with depth there are some kids in the 2024 group in this area that are really good. A few of them I think have the potential to do quite well at top collegiate programs. 2024 setter Alexis Haury playing up on the 18s NPJ Forefront team from Oregon is phenomenal. She has incredible vball IQ and command of the offense and is extremely accurate and well rounded. I was told by club staff shes being heavily recruited by big name programs. 2024 OH Lauren Dreves playing up on OJVA 17s out of Portland is really good. She's a very well rounded 6 rotation with great range and a nasty serve. 2024 Setter Alex Bower in Idaho plays up on 17s (sisters all play at BYU) and is a top tier talent. 2024 OH Alex Acevedo also on that Idaho 17s team is right there with any of the names on these well known stacked 16s teams. Thanks for posting. First hand observations like these are extraordinarily helpful. I hope you post more. Welcome to the site!

How exactly is a 2024 being heavily recruited? If there are multiple D1 Coaches reaching out to your 2024 club coach or recruiting coordinator right now gathering interest and learning about the recruit, school interests , academic interests etc (Before June 15th), I would deem that as being heavily recruited. I know of a handful in the Southeast that currently fit that bill.
