This would make sense to do in most cases except I would think Kansas and kansas State could play the same weekend but alternate gyms since they are just an hour apart. Would be very helpful for West Virginia to reduce travel. As could Baylor with TCU and Texas Which is one of the reasons it shouldn't happen. It's arbitrary and also creates more of a risk for COVID. Better to keep it blanket.

I already revealed last week that this is what the Big12 is going to do for conference if the season happens. Not sure they are copying the Big 10 as they have been planning this type of schedule for at least the past month.

Not saying the big 12 is copying what the Big 10 is doing but they are simply going to do the same thing which is a great idea IMO. I do remember you saying this last week and appreciate your inside information.

Sad that there may be some clear advantages for some teams over others in hosting certain matches but at the end of the day, the best team should come out on top. I wonder if the Big 12 will allow non-conferences matches though. I know certain teams where on the tentative schedule a few weeks ago, but that may not happen now. Double days are supposed to start soon so hopefully we will get a concrete answer in the near future.

Some big 12 spokesman recently said that conference only for football is the less likely option as of now simply because espn and different networks payed for over 50 games and conference only would be in the 30's so a lot of money would have to be paid back. I think we will see non conference play but it will only be with teams close in travel and if their conference has not gone to conference only or canceled yet. It may result in less non conference games but I'll take anything over nothing.

The Big 12 Board of Directors announced that Conference football programs will play a “9+1” schedule for the 2020 season consisting of nine conference games and one non-conference home opponent. The start of Conference play will be solidified in the coming weeks, with an anticipated start sometime between mid- to late-September, with the expectation that non-conference games are contested prior to beginning league games.
Now that this is announced, I anticipate vb will follow suit with conference only and starting in late September...??🤷🏻♂️

It would mean each team only plays 16 games? Nah. But then again, that's today.

I need you all to tell me what you think about this. I have mixed feelings about it.... a source has told me that while discussing options for the fall sports other than football and even mens and women's basketball in the fall someone brought up the idea that the games be at one location over a period of time and players would kind of be in a bubble like scenario where they would either be in a hotel or each team would get houses for players and staff. Each team would play the back to back scenario where they play the same team on Friday and Saturday.
I like the thought process but I would think this would become a liability issue with the school. What about students who are taking courses that require face to face instruction?

What about students who are taking courses that require face to face instruction? I think this is the answer to your question. I don't see any way this works. Maybe for the postseason. Would it be feasible to host all 64 teams at Nebraska/Creighton/UNO?

Would it be feasible to host all 64 teams at Nebraska/Creighton/UNO? That's what I was thinking. This scenario is more of a tournament thing. Could be when teams reach the sweet 16 or elite 8 then maybe this would work because it would be when students are not in school since all classes are ending before Thanksgiving break but while students are in school then it would become a big problem. Asking athletes to change their class schedules seems like a bit to much

With O’Brien now on Texas roster will she over take Peterson as Libero? Assuming of course there is a season.

According to every outlet except the Big 12 office, they will continue to move forward and try to play.
