Then why do people even want MBH to go? It sounds like nobody here thinks she can contribute due to her “weak” passing. Why not just take someone like Simone Lee with a huge arm if we are taking someone who can’t pass. Nah. She can pass, just not at the level of the others. Which is why I don't think she starts. Passing is a premium for the USA system, but on her "on"days imo MBH brings solid termination and blocking. Plus she has the most experience with the team, you can't exactly bring a new OH into the fold this late imo. That's correct. She has played every single tournament of this quad with the team. I didn't even realize that. Karch chose to invest in her and I would say that it has paid off for both parties. Wilhite is the next one who will likely shine come the next quad and beyond. Her stock is rising. Kingdon is the workhorse of the team and will fill in as needed but I don't think she will rise to the level of the previous two. She is slightly too undersized to be terminal at this level and her passing is at the same level as MBH, maybe slightly lower.

For what it's worth, I still think it's premature for people to conclude Drews can't score OOS. It's been quite a while since we last saw USA play. Think of how big of a jump she made the season prior. In Japan, against virtually no block. We HAVE to take that into consideration. However, Japanese back court defense is the best in the world so we also have to give her that credit. I agree and really hope she makes that position her own. It is certainly hers to lose right now.

Hill is MILES better today than she was in 2016, especially at passing. Her offensive threat has dipped quite a bit on the NT. That was probably due to setting. Poulter and Carlini both had good seasons so I think this might be the year we get the old Hill back. I'm cautiously optimistic. I'm not sure we know her offense has dropped for the NT. Copying a previous post I made: I swear that I heard her say somewhere that she took a step back from playing time with the national team even though she was there because she needed a break, not because she was beaten out. I'd be surprised if she isn't on the floor for us at the Olympics because we all know what she can do.

Copying a previous post I made: I completely agree. Time will tell if she has been purposely relegated. I just have to believe that she can somehow bring even a portion of her club magic to the NT. I think Carlini/Poulter can get her the ball she likes to hit.

I really want JT and Drews to be the opposites for the olympics. As of now, I’m taking JT’s struggles with Ezca with a grain of salt. She has shown she can produce on the right for the USA. Whenever Drews has struggled, JT has always filled in nicely. Besides, I don’t know if Drews can play a long stretch of matches without struggling a few times. In 2019, there were multiple instances where JT came and played well in replacement of a struggling Drews. (Korea, Bulgaria, etc.)

Kingdon's passing is much lower than MBH's That's fair. I didn't wanna rain on Kingdon's parade. She has been instrumental to THY's success this season and wanted to give her some credit. I also cannot remember the last time we saw the two of them passing together on the court? 2017 WGP?

Let's bring mbh as sub for both OH and OPP. Leave lowe and as much as i like jt. Sorry but her season is bad, she isn't in great shape, she hasn't playing opposite for more than a year. And still has monor injury?
So bring both plummer and mbh for sub both oh and opp 😁if we need big arms

Imagine if this was our 2024 team LOL: Plummer and Robinson at OH, Wilhite at OPP, Carlini at S, Ogbogu and Butler at MB (humor me), and a more-experienced JWO at L. We run USA fast and just destroy everyone.

Or, let's bring an extra middle since we can't trust ANY of them to stay healthy.
