Also, when there are 335 D1 teams, where does the line for “bad” start? 87/335 is only 26% of teams. So 74% of college teams are BAD?

I am a bit confused. You call it a discussion board and in the next sentence attempt to stifle discussion by telling jwvolley not to respond to you and to only read, unless they have the same opinion as you... So which is it? A discussion board where we all reply to each other, or a place where Ballislife blogs their personal feelings and those who don’t agree must not state such, they just need to move on? I’m getting mixed messages from you here. Notice how his response to you had to be some jab about Minnesota's performance in the tournament. There is ongoing discussion in this thread about WHY some of us think LBSU DOES have a talented roster, particularly in 2021. His refusal to read any of that shows he doesn't actually want to talk about it. At some point, you can't win with certain people on here. Yeah, it’s interesting. I love when people think jabs at Minnesota will personally offend me in their responses to me. Of course I like Minnesota, but I created this account a decade ago when I actually lived there and attended their matches. I (much) more closely follow a couple other teams that many worse things can be said about. Anyway.. I am not trying to “win” against Ballislife. I do not like to purposely befriend trolls.

If it's an irrelevant conference to you then why are you commenting on a thread about a player and the impact they could have on a team IN THAT CONFERENCE?? You seem to REALLY want to emphasize just how lacking LBSU is in talent and how their players are not talented at anything except losing and the program is such a joke and blah blah blah. because it’s absolutely ridiculous how you clowns deem one recruit to be the coming of Christ and name an era after her. Also because you claim they are a talented roster. These blatant lies with no supporting evidence is what annoys me. Ok they have/had %*$# middles that barely got above the net, a weak Opp with %*$# footwork and blocking technique, a terrible setter, and an outside who jumped high but that’s pretty much it and was more concerned with her weave and makeup during the match. What did I miss? Oh that Ms. Harward, their Libero, was the best player on that team, and should’ve been used at outside more than she was. So I’ve met the player you’re referencing to and she is a very nice girl. I get that you feel very passionately about proving yourself right about the future but understand that’s no reason to make personal, un called for attacks on players. Lay off the box wine before going on volleytalk

This just comes off as rude and uninformed. Rude? Lol how soft are you? How is that uninformed what I said? The truth hurts apparently. Btw sweetheart, I’m allowed an opinion. It’s a discussion board. You don’t like it, refrain from reading. I’d like to know which is your team and we’ll go from there.

So I’ve met the player you’re referencing to and she is a very nice girl. I get that you feel very passionately about proving yourself right about the future but understand that’s no reason to make personal, un called for attacks on players. Lay off the box wine before going on volleytalk so the fact that you knew exactly who I referenced kinda proves my point. So saying a player isn’t focused during a match because they’re messing around with makeup and a weave during a match is mean and attacking. Oh but calling someone out of shape, slow, etc. isn’t? Ok, sound reasoning. Apply it across all facets, don’t pick and choose what is deemed mean and attacking to one person but not another. It happens to multiple women on here and is @$$%*!* how some are the victims, but it’s acceptable to happen towards others. Yet I say one thing and I’m a “bigot” according to some. First they need to learn how to actually apply that word, and second, these are the same POS that will be nice to these players faces, but talk %*$# as soon as they walk away. Or you could leave characters physical appearance alone completely? It was an unnecessarily pointed attack(sure wasn’t a compliment) to a player who is not here to defend themselves. For all you know, it could be calming mechanism for her. I’ve had players who untie-retie their ponytails in between points, throughout a huddle, etc because it helps them calm the jitters. Until you have had a sit down conversation with the player and she’s explained herself, you’re just coming off as a childish @$$%*!* who can’t offer anything to a discussion but their own temper. Not a good look...

Making sure Niki's hair, nails, and makeup were ALWAYS on point was an important part of the USC Prep/game plan. Don't knock it!

It's equal parts ridiculous and typical that all of these asinine, ad hominem attacks are being directed at LBSU's best player from last year. Williams did more to carry that team than anyone else on the roster in 2019. The notion that her appearance detracted from either her or the team's desire to win isn't only ignorant, it's absurd.

When did I say it did? I described someone not their game lol. Oh wait the part where she jumps high but nothing else really, yeah that’s also true; 12-17 in the Big West. That’s literally all that matters. You didn't describe Kashauna Williams, you described yourself. You do so, in revealing terms, with every single post you make. So I described myself as someone who plays with their weave and makeup during matches? Ok lol

Shea Cotton signed with LBSU but never enrolled over some NCAA issues. Mia is the highest recruit for Vball team in a long time. Coach G built a dominate program by finding mid level recruits who were super athletic and some very high rated recruits. Misty was obviously a huge recruit and a huge athlete (high jumped 5'"10" in hs). The team has been down for years, so yes getting a 5 star recruit has got us Beach fans fired up. The returning weapons are pretty nice as well. With Starr Williams (a top 30 player in the 2021 class) they'll be loaded on the pins. As I mentioned in my last post, blocking is the issue imo. Bacon and Booth will need to be good in the middle because none of the current pins are dominant blockers and it's not a strong part of Jordan's game either. Is the BEACH this eager to put a mark on the national scene? It's been about 20+ years since they've done anything close to their 90's dominance. It appears fans on here as desperate for some BEACH resurgence. Labeling Mia Tuniaga "the next great anything" is not good way to begin! Is she a good high school setter? Yes! Is she a D1 top notch setter that's going to come in and run the show, I don't think so, I also think her counterpart, Tia Chavira, is quite the athlete and more dynamic on the floor in running the LB system. Again, Mia is good, I don't think she brings so much to the table that makes the program a top 25 contender. At 5'9 and a average jumper, they may have to run a 6-2 to compete against the bigger guns. As far people commenting on the power pins, I hope Williams stays eligible and injury free. She has an all world leaping ability, but significantly lacks skill and consistency to be a go to. This team still loses to San Diego, UCLA, USC, Pepperdine, so naming them the best team in SoCal is a bit of a stretch. They'll never be as dominant as in the BG era, if they are to do so.... 1) the "commuter school" stigma needs to go away 2) I am not confident in this coaching staff, they do their thing, they coach about the quality of their record, just average. Seems Joy mainly recruits to her club organization, poaches the recruits from other clubs and has them play a season or two with her club orignization. It would be nice if they could open up the recruiting scope 3) Tough time getting top tier talent to commit, any PAC10/BIGTEN/Bid12 type athlete that's being recruited, is not closing LBSU over USC etc. 4) Limited financial resources and athletic fund keeps LB from stepping it up the program. Hawai'i and Cal Poly remain the Queens of the BigWest. 4) A big name coach, like Misty May (yes I know she's retired from coaching) would also create some excitement.
