Canada closes the gap down to 3 now. 15-18 Pavan and Mel a little bit off today. Hope they can straighten it out. You wonder if the unorthodox style of Slaes just throws them off. They have to stay so much more mentally focused for the option, and even on one plays that they throw at them. Agreed though, they look frustrated and not sharp at all.

MHPavs get in these weird ruts. Why is Pavs still hitting a topspin jumper now that its not working? You are the best defensive team in the world, just put it in play

Maybe but having a defender as fast as Mel should be the best defense against the Slaes option. Pavs isnt blocking anything, Mel is hitting the ball out. Unfortunately this is also typical of that team, they lose matches badly that they should own. Slaes cant let them back in though, Kelly hitting that one out was a big mistake

13-19 is still a mountain to climb. Slaes is one point away from the freeze and 2 points from taking the whole match.

Plummets high competitive beach days are over for the time being. Sara just cannot play left. Shell be good for any player who allows her to play right. Sara should just pull am April and refuse to play anything but right amd shell be ok. As a defender, Sara needs to be able to terminate from both sides. I agree that a hand setter will help, but she seems to be burning the bridges back to her former partners.

Looks like Slaes needs to win against the ATeam to claim the 3rd place bonus pool since Brandie/Sara hold the head-to-head tiebreaker.

As a Canadian and huge fan of Mel and Sarah’s, it’s been really rough these 3 weekends watching Mel struggle so much and Sarah trying her darndest not to be frustrated by it. Mel looks noticeably slower on defense, isn’t jumping as high, not swinging as hard, and generally making poorer decisions on offense. Pre-quarantine, they were every bit the equal to April and Alix.

They admitted in one of the post-match interviews that they were still a little rusty after the long layoff. Of course long stretches of inconsistent play is nothing new for them. Let’s hope they can get that straightened out because those epic battles with the A Team last year were some really good volleyball.

Yeah, 21-19, 21-18 to Slaes you could attribute to rust, 16, 13 (and lucky to get that) is embarassing
