Throwing money at things which need money is, in fact, the right thing to do.

We got into this mess mostly through tax cuts. More tax cuts aren't exactly going to help the deficit, you know.
Certainly the middle of a depression isn't really the time to raise taxes, but the problem is that we keep cutting taxes when things are going well. So now that we really need to be deficit spending, we're starting from a much deeper hole than we should be starting from.

This payroll tax suspension is such a blatantly cynical political ploy. It doesn't help the unemployed, the tax is STILL OWED, and it's just another example of GOP magical thinking.
The extension is effed up too.

About as much good as does to fund the Kennedy Center for 300 million as part of the economic stimulus package. $25 million (but who’s counting), actually, for an organization that employs 3,000 people and turns an annual net profit between $20-$30 million. Now, stuffing $2 billion into a Covid relief bill for a new FBI building across the street from a Trump hotel? Now that’s just peachy. To be fair, even Republicans did a WTF when they saw that. They know that the most cost and overall effective thing wouldn't be rebuilding on the existing site but finding a larger site in Virginia or Maryland. That would allow use of the current site until ready for move-in, compared to needing to pay for temporary space (likely in multiple sites) and then moving back in. Of course Trump is really hoping that the federal government doesn't sell the property, which is ideal for a hotel that would compete with his.

You act like the left hasn’t done this also. What I’m saying is in general throwing money at issues solves nothing if you don’t fix the root of issue. And neither side does they just put band aids on things they don’t fix them Nonsense. Of course democrats spend (I assume that's what you mean by "the left," though the democrats are hardly "left"). I never claimed otherwise. In fact, I'd be happy to see even more government spending on things to make people's lives better. Creating more jobs for people makes peoples lives better not government handouts. If you just hand give handouts all the time you decentivise people to want to work. Create more jobs and get rid of welfare system. If people don’t want to work and have difficult time surviving that’s o. them.

I can think of some people with similar social status and shared economic interests (a "class," if you will) who we should be raising taxes on right now.

The extension is effed up too. Like it or not, the Democrats sat on their asses and should’ve negotiated for basic, common sense spending. But they went for broke and lost, they’re idiots.

Yep they focused on nothing but trying to impeach trump for 3 years plus and now they are screwed. They make bad decisions they want to take no responsibility and have everyone else constantly clean up mess they created and tell people to give they more money. It’s insanity. Latest example is minny trying to get federal help to rebuild city after they rejected intial help stood with protestors and criminals as there city burned now want a bailout. Good for trump for rejecting this. Bad decisions need real consequences or nothing deters it from continuing. You don’t reward bad decisions with bailouts.

Actually, the Democrats had their bill out for a long time and the Republican side were the ones who could not decide how to proceed among themselves. It was also the Republican side that was very late to put their bill together. The Republicans are much more interested in a 70% wage replacement, but the problem with that is states can't implement it fast enough. If that had been dealt with months ago, it could have given ample time to implement a system.

It's just so funny that holiday is blaming the Dems for the impasse. They were the ones trying to do what was right for the country. It just never fails. No one cares about the deficit when they are cutting taxes. It only comes up when someone the Dems are trying to help (and help the economy at the same time).
Sure, there was a compromise to be made. But Trump's guys wouldn't budge and too many of the GOP just wanted to sit it out.

So predicatable. This is what I’m talking about. The left takes no blame for anything. They always twist it to be someone else’s fault. I have tried in past to make compromise and agree that both sides share in blame but the left doesn’t want to give a inch. They want everything their way. So I’ve stopped trying

Left of what? There's almost no "left" in American politics.

Oh boy, you fools set the standards so high that none of these people want to go back to work even if they could. $600 a week? Are you people totally insane? Why in the hell would anyone want to go to work with that kind of freeloading going on. That was not the Republicans idea

You need to screen shot this stuff down seriously. You could make a amazing comedy routine with it. I get finally why u continue to argue. You are getting material for a best selling book or series right. They are constantly supplying material. Tell me when you stuff comes out. I def want to watch or read it 😆😂😂😂
