First, will Mylana Byrd be classified as a Junior, or Senior, in 2021? On the 2020 roster she is classified as a Junior. If she is classified as a Junior for the 2021 season, Robyn will not have any scholarships available to give out for 2022. For this reason, I can see Robyn holding on to these 2 scholarships to be used for 2022 recruits.

We actually don't know if Glagau will be on an indoor scholarship. Ikenaga probably isn't on scholarship given the wording in the UH announcement. If Hawaii can land impact transfers like Diouf and Kinley then might as well use up the scholarships. If Glagau is on a Beach Volleyball scholarship, from my understanding she cannot play indoor for at least two years, or am I wrong. Also, in Ikenaga's announcement it says that she is signed, which would mean that she is on scholarship. I think you're correct. That was the rule as of a couple of years ago at least. So maybe she's not on a beach scholarship?
How do Indoor and Beach scholarship work with each other? If an athlete is on an indoor scholarship, they may play beach. If the athlete is on a beach scholarship, she may not play indoor. This is to prevent schools from adding beach solely to gain more scholarship money in indoor.
What if an athlete wants to switch from a beach scholarship to an indoor scholarship? After two years of being on beach money, an athlete can switch to an indoor scholarship and play both sports.

I’m sure Robyn and staff went thru all the rules and regulations before offering a scholarship to Glagau so she should be safe there. If Glagau was on indoor scholarship this past season before the academic year started, it’s too late to take the money back. She was practicing with the team in anticipation of a shortened spring season before the BW cancelled the season. She was given the scholarship to replace Hellvig due to Hellvig not wanting to come back due to COVID. Maybe the NCAA allowed for that since it’s special circumstances. I don’t think you can turn around and take her scholarship away. Anyway, it Glagau’s case, UH is not “stacking” indoor players on the beach team. Glagau is NOT better then Hellvig so maybe the NCAA allowed for that.

It's a blanket rule that applies to everyone. Whether Glagau is better than Helvig is completely irrelevant.
If she was on an indoor scholarship, she can play beach. That's the heirarchy of scholarships: if you play BB and VB, any scholarship you get will count against BB. If you play Indoor and Beach VB and get a scholarship, it will count against indoor, not beach. You might be a top VB player and not that good a BB player but your scholarship will still count against BB. Stanford is running into that problem with Mendelson, who wants to play both but is only ~25th in her class for BB. SHe's a top VB player but if she plays both sports, her scholarship will count against BB, not VB. And Van DerVeer (the women's BB coach) is very unlikely to want to use one of her schollies for Mendelson, esp if she plays VB too. Hambly would give her a VB schollie but he can't if she plays BB too. It works the same with VB and beach VB. If you get a scholarship and play Indoor and beach VB, it will count against the indoor team.

I really don’t think Tayli is on scholarship. You don’t give a scholarship for someone who is not a polished libero. Scholarship could be better use for a hitter or MB. She will have a chance to earn one but to give one to someone who was not even heavily recruited? Maybe someone like Elena Oglivie deserve one. Need to remember Savannah Kahakai was given a scholarship, as a Libero. If I am not mistaken, she was an OH for Farrington High School.

I said it was from a couple of years ago. Do you have something more recent? Sorry, the burden of proof is on your shoulders I put up a link. If you say that the rule has changed since then, you need to say why you think that.
The indoor/beach vb hierarchy has been in place for a long time. If it wasn't around, Nebraska, Stanford, and many other teams would use their beach scholarships for indoor players. They don't. All the players on their beach teams that play indoor and have a schollie count against the indoor team, not the beach team.

Um actually, it seems like you were arguing that the rules for 5 years ago are the same as they are now.

If they changed, why hasn't Nebraska started using beach scholarships for their indoor team?

The rules for Bvb and Ind. vb and counting scholarships are as baytree explained. The rules are to prevent stacking extra indoor players on outdoor scholarships as away of paid redshirting over the 12 scholarship indoor limit!
