i feel that while we'll see across the nation we'll see higher play with 5th years coming back, we'll also see lots of season-ending injuries with both the extended off season for the big west and ivy and the shorten off season for the rest of the country. wishing a speedy recovery for and hoping the athletes across the nation get the care they need for their bodies. there's been a lot of injuries/hard situation in the last week alone.

Hoping de Goede gets better in time for sand, but who knows. Don’t think it’s wise to make season ending injuries public on social media. Makes UH look bad. First Jolie then Annika, not a great look. Hoping that Mia’s injury is less severe.
On the bright side, this gives Leo an opportunity to shine. Wondering too if they will activate Demirtas’ eligibility this year

If so many players in a program get injured, the coaching comes under question. As in, is the coaching emphasizing safety during practice/matches (eg Don’t go under the net). I’m going to assume that coach Rob emphasizes safety, but still a bad look for the program to get good athletes injured. Reporting a season ending injury on the team’s social media makes things look worse.

Hmmm funny, when I criticized the “season ending injury” post, it was taken down. Good call!

Reporting a season ending injury on the team’s social media makes things look worse. It's not a matter of the coaches emphasizing anything, but rather the players (and quite frankly the coaches too) knowing that injuries can happen whether you emphasize it or not. You can tell a player don't go under the net, or go up straight when blocking and not float, but in the heat of the moment, anything can happen. It's just a sad situation all the way around because you hate to see a player get injured, in any sport for that matter.

UH doesn’t reveal season ending injuries anymore…I think.
When men’s volleyball player Dimitis Mouchlias was said to returned to Greece due to a season ending injury, UH released nothing about what his injury was. Dimi had to post a picture of his injury on IG for the fans to know what his injury was.
I guess we can kind of find out during the next home stand. She will still be on the bench rooting her teammates on so it’s not like she will disappear from sight.

Here read some literature on the matter www.researchgate.net/publication/47413463_Behaviour_the_Key_Factor_for_Sports_Injury_PreventionI know the article is older than 10 years but at least based on actual research and not just your personal drivel

Like I said, you can tell a player all the things they need to hear to prevent injury but in the heat of the moment, if it happens, there's nothing to stop that injury from happening. I'm not being "extra ignorant," I'm just stating a fact. If you are or have been an athlete you would understand this, it comes with any game you play.
