Not every 5'8" setter can be Kanoe Kamana'o on the block. Kanoe Kamana'o had hops. She could get up on the block. One of the better blocking setters Hawai'i had. And she was smart for her size, a pure setter, one of the finest to come out of UH

What's with Lang being criticized as a terrible blocker? She's 5'10". By Hawai'i standards that's tall for a setter: 6'2" Byrd 6'1" Carey (1999-2002), Koelsch (2014-17) 5'11" Iosia (2016-2019) 5'10" Lang, Mafua (2006-10) 5'9" Choy (2019), Brandt (2007-09), Higgins (2013-16) 5'8" Kamana'o (2003-06), Vakasausau (1999-2002), Uiato (2010-13), Stauber (2011-12), And don't forget Robyn Ah Mow....she's like 5'7" and the best setter Hawaii has ever produced....

She’s still Robyn’s first setting recruit so im hoping UCR was an example of her getting the first season jitters out of the way. Her being a liability or not as a blocker is a non factor. It was her location, and her ability to keep Igiede involved that was suspect in the beginning, that looks like it’s all cleaning up so I’m hoping she’ll be able to take the reigns and Byrd can be a reliable blocking sub IF necessary against the tougher outsides in the conference

RAM was blocking at the olympics lol. I don't think that would happen nowadays with Karch

Just watched the Fairfield match, RAMs had the lineup right except the setter of course. I think if she goes with it Leo has more to improve respectively than Lang for their positions but I don't see any limitations for them to do so. Happy to stay a Wahine ultra this year!!

I'm curious to see how Lang will block against a better offense this time in the season, the Marquette match did not look pretty for her. Want to see Leo in double digits vs Davis

RAM was blocking at the olympics lol. I don't think that would happen nowadays with Karch I saw a video of a different game where RAM would be in the front but the 2 other players would block instead of her. If RAM was on the right, she would move back for the left and middle to block the right side. I never saw something like that before.

Does anyone have a replay of the game against Riverside? Don’t think there were any recordings, ESPN didn’t pick it up and UCR prob doesn’t feel obligated to record anything with no sidearm big west streaming

I really wish someone could mirror stream it on youtube or twitch. At least on twitch you can have live interaction with others in the chat and don't pay a dime unless you charge the $5 to watch the VODS. IMHO rather spend it on someone else than on ESPN. Something to look at in the future if someone is willing to do that. I know all the ins and outs of twitch, so just ask me in a PM.
