Any thoughts on this? Not exactly sure about what his overall impact at Nebraska was but I wonder how it translates to Long Beach and the difficulty of California/ Big West Recruiting http://instagr.am/p/CXrxC-SvaxN I think this is a great hire. Hopefully he can turn things around for the Beach. That’s my thoughts as well, if Hawaii is going to remain in the Big West I really hope we can get to a place where 3-4 teams are getting into the post season regularly. Hawaii, UCSB, LBSU, and SLO all have the capability. UCI is knocking on the door, UCSD might get there one day now that they are D1. We’ll see how the future shapes up!

What’s the most that has been on a Hawaii staff in the past? Probably the years of when Wade, Ambrozich, Sealy, Tsuji were on staff so... the 2000s?? The 2008 Media Guide shows Ryan Tsuji as an Assistant Coach. The 2004-2007 Media Guides show him as a Manager-Recall that he was a UH student during this time period and was allowed to participate in the practice gym. Mike Sealy replaced Charlie Wade in 2006. Jimbo Bucella has been the Volunteer Equipment Manager for a long time.

wags wasnt a good passer? Wagoner passed worst than ikenaga this year 2.13. So no not really. BVS was far and away Hawaii best passer. Wagoner played good defense tho. Just wasn’t the best passer to be fair, all 3 (wagoner, bvs and ikenaga) struggled at times this year. all 3, at different times were the target on service receive, for different reasons. ikenaga had her moments when she struggled ... freshman/learning curve moments. wagoner struggled mightily in the beginning and steadied out over the course of the season. but her passing struggled when they had a hard time getting out of certain rotations, and she was forced to take a lot of swings. bvs seemed to be targeted, just so teams could wear her down, and it was successful at times. it's tough to carry the offensive workload she had, plus passing every rotation. in the latter half of the season, bvs was even pinched or removed from serve receive sometimes, when gong was in with gong/wagoner/ikenaga passing. the passing stats are good to know, for sure! but i think you also have to balance that with what's happening in a particular game/rotation/situation ...

I’m not really bothered by the passing stats because Lang is pretty good at setting the middle from off the net. It’s not like everyone was passing below 2.0.

SO what will happen when the freshmen setter for Hawaii starts the season 2022? There will be three setters, and only one Libro. Can Wagoner become D/S and attack from back row, since Caylen Alexander is due to come in 2022 season. What will happen to setter, Byrd.
