I believe that koa said there were 2 scholarships available before the announcement of Demirtas, so we would still have one scholarship left open. However, if we do sign Ka’aha’aina-Torres who is a junior in terms of athletic standing, then we will have exactly one scholarship for 2022 if Byrd chooses not to stay on the team. Do not forget, a 2022 scholarship will be awarded to Matias, out of Punahou. Yup, so if Byrd doesn't stay for the 2022 season, then Matias will receive that scholarship.

If Devon commits I think the plan is to plug her in at middle. I just can't see a scenario where you have 4-5 potential opposites on the team and not have much middle depth. I find it hard to see her switching to the middle from playing as one of the best OHs at the high school level. After this coming season, we will have Igiede, Kiraly, Westerberg, and Akana who can play in the middle, and perhaps they may try Demirtas at the middle as well because it seems she has some experience playing in that position as well. I see Igiede, Kiraly, and Westerberg, as the Middles in 2022. Akana needs to focus on her defense. No way she beats out Igiede, Kiraly, and Westerberg for a Middle position. The Opposite is not even in the conversation with Demirtas and de Goede. Akana's best chance to crack the lineup is either at Libero, or OH2.

There may not be a scholarship available for Ka'aha'aina-Torres. Believe the Turkish Hammer took the last scholarship that was available. The only way a scholarship would become available for Ka'aha'aina-Torres is if a scholarship player decides to transfer out. This was previously discussed. Glagau was on scholarship for only 1 indoor season. Ikenaga is probably not on scholarship. Seniors don’t count against scholarship totals. I’m counting 3 scholarships to give out for fall 2021. Now 2 after the Demirtas signing. 2 scholarships after the Demirtas signing? So just to clarify, the players who are currently on scholarship are: Mylana Byrd (Jr.) Amber Igiede (So.) Tiffany Westerberg (So.) Riley Wagoner (So.) Braelyn Akana (So.) Anna Kiraly (Fr.) Martyna Leoniak (Fr.) Kate Lang (Fr.) Mia Johnson (Fr.) Annika De Goede (Fr.) Ilayda Demirtas (Fr.) I'm currently counting 11 scholarships taken, so we have 1 scholarship that's available unless one of the above players are not on scholarship?

lang byrd glagau (going back to beach?) jolie - freebee wagoner bvs - freebee tiff akana kiraly igeide williams degoede, johnson, leoniak, turkish hammer how is it remotely possible for saige to transfer to us. Head count is 13, so that means 1 is not going to be on scholarship for 2021? I believe Glagau is probably going back to only playing on the beach, and you also forgot to count Williams as being a "freebie"

Was thinking about the scholarship totals for both 2021 and 2022. Forgot about Byrd, so just one scholarship for the 2021 Fall season. Wonder if Robyn will ask someone to leave the team if Kahahawai signs?

The question is, Kaylee Glagau scholarship. Will she be on a Beach, or Indoor scholarship in 2021.

Ilaynda, sort of reminds me of Nikki Taylor. Both tall, and lanky, Opposites. Both have wicked serves, put up big blocks, and can play defense. She has a fast arm swing. Batenhorst of Nebraska actually looks like Taylor.

Mylana Byrd's scholarship is already given to Matias. So the 1 remaining scholarship will be on hold for either Ka'aha'aina-Torres, or Kahahawai. But there will not be a scholarship available for both, unless someone transfers out. Do not believe Robyn will hold a scholarship for a Libero. unless that Libero is of Gage Worsley quality. All potential Liberoes will have to walk-on if not of Gage's quality.

Looks like Coach Ang is only going after players she can see eye-to-eye with. Not have to look down at players, when instructing them.

Saige will academically be a senior in 2021 as far as I’m aware.
Who knows if she stays either? Maybe she leaves like Byrd. Giving us two schollie still.

Just going off of what I have seen on video, or players playing in 2019, this would be my starting lineup come 2021.
OH1 - Jolie Rasmussen OH2 - Brooke van Sickle MB - Skyler Williams MH - Amber Igiede S - Kate Lang OPP - Ilayda Demirtas DS - Kyra Hanawahine
If Jolie Rasmussen does not decide to return, then insert either Martyna Leoniak, or Tiffany Westerberg.

The 2021 squad could be the tallest that I can remember with 8, or 9 players 6'2 or taller.

Kate Lang will have her work cut out for her, having to get accustomed to so many new players, and the players having to get use to her. But the one BIG PLUS on Kate Lang's side is that she has Robyn as her coach.
