Im talking your whole vibe on the past few pages. You’re giving Major d**khead energy and it’s tiring. We won’t know the caliber of this team until we see them in person. What i was agreeing with is that there are alot of unknowns but im not going sh*tpost incessantly and fight with other people about the validity of your sh*tposting. There have been plenty of teams with completely new looks to make a deep post season run. It’s about the athletes on the floor and their cohesiveness as a unit, not whether or not you think they’re good enough. FWIW I didn't derail any convo. I got slammed for saying that I THINK the wahine won't go far just based on it's current state. Is it far too early to make that judgment, yeah sure. But sh!tposting, nah. volleytalk.proboards.com/user/15346/recent?page=1 - I see nothing dick-ish about my posts. Like y'all really getting upset that I think the wahine isn't going to make it to the regionals. But of course it depends on their draw too. I think this team, of all the top teams, has the most question marks simply because we didn't see them at all during the 2020-2021 season. Hawaii is my team, but I would be crazy if I didn't say I was worried. I trust Robyn and Angelica will work their magic and there are some key returning pieces that will be good for this team, but I'm still nervous. I feel like this team could be not very great or pretty stellar. With this many international players, it's hard to get a gauge of how that will translate to the NCAA game. The biggest question mark for me is libero right now. Everything else I feel will be pretty solid.

How am I sh!t-talking when you agreed with what I said? Also can you please define what you mean by? > while what you’re bitching about is correct, i just don’t see why you are putting so much energy into actively being against the idea of this team being successful. I already said this current roster as of now is good enough to win the big west... Would it be a successful season if that were to happen? Yes, absolutely but is that really the standard for UH volleyball now? To just to make the tournament and be satisfied with any outcome? I forgot I was delusional so this team is going to make a deep run in the NCAAs. It all works out in the end . Honestly, yes. We had a series of bad years where we couldn't even make it past the first round. Robyn opted to rebuild the program pretty much from scratch and we are finally to the point where we can say a realistic goal would to win the Big West and Host a Regional. Imho there is a *huge* jump from where we are to the next step, which is Final 4 Contender. The work for that is done on the recruiting trail, often years in advance since girls are committing so early these days. Sure, I think if Jolie and Hellvig had both decided to come back, we would have had an outside shot at it. But maybe not, tons of other schools are also loaded going into this year too. For me, a win would be hosting a regional again, and then going as far as they can, depending on the match ups.

No one is predicting anything at this point, knowing that this will be practically a new team. But no, “they will be good enough to win the big west, but they won’t make it far in the tournament.” No one was looking that ahead, other than you. Please stop with your nonsense, you’re full of it.

Holy smokes, what a weird stretch of comments. Just some thoughts:
1. As much I love the glimpses of what we saw with Rasmussen, Hawaii essentially got to where they did last year without her. She lifted us in the NCAA tourney. No one expected much from Ross (outside) and Okino (libero), who both had to step in with Rasmussen out, but the coaching staff got the best from who they had available last year, which was essentially a brand new team, and they made it to the Sweet 16. Hawaii will field the best line up possible to win games next year.
2. Hawaii has 17 players on the roster. Regardless if we add in any last minute transfers, Hawaii's lineup is stacked with talent and depth. We're obviously inexperienced, but lets not forget how hard the team works. Even after a cancelled season, NO ONE left the program. They all wanna be here and give the fans some Wahine volleyball. I expect seasoned players like Van Sickle, Igiede, and Williams to have All-American-like seasons and for players like Wagoner and Westerberg to step up. Lets also not forget players like Lang, Byrd, and Kiraly have already come into the program and have essentially had a redshirt year to develop and get better.
3. With all the new and returning players looking to contribute more, its frustrating to read posters write them off and think we need to stack our team with more players to be better. We'll be fine!!
GO BOWS!!

Good lord: in seeing so many pages ensue since going to bed here (nr Kona, ~9P HST), I thought there must have been some major news concerning Na Wahine; instead I see that the former toxique/burned is at it again...dude, get a clue & read the room! NO ONE can "know" what will eventuate after such the long hiatus.

What makes discussion boards interesting is that people actually discuss their opinions, and not just re-post facts and statistics. So when someone says "the team is going to be good (or bad) this year", it doesn't mean that they think they have supernatural powers to predict the future. They are giving their opinion, even if they don't begin every sentence with "in my opinion". (Or at least, that's my opinion. )

Have I missed something. I do not recall Robyn, Coach Ang, or even Jolie, her self, publicly mention that she will not be returning to the Wahine Volleyball team for her Covid Senior season. Till any of these 3 people do, as far as I am concerned, Jolie Rasmussen is still part of the Wahine Volleyball team. Comments from other people is just speculation, just here say.

It was more BS than just, “i don’t think we will be good this year”

Yea, I don't quite see the evidence of a non-return. Did any of the seniors mention if they were returning or not?

It’s basically been said in her most recent Instagram post Explain please From what the post itself looks like, there was a “farewell 4s” Tournament played on the sand for Jolie. The post she sent had a bunch of people saying goodbye, but still taking it with a grain of salt because it wasn’t actually any indoor women’s players saying goodbye. If she stays that will be AMAZING but signs point to her leaving eventually http://instagram.com/p/CPuHuF5p1wR
