One of my coworkers in Atlanta in 2018 at a non-volleyball, corporate job at a rather small company, revealed to me that she was on the Liberty volleyball team when she was in college. I said "oh, I watched Liberty play at Minnesota in the 2012 NCAA tournament first round match!" and she was like "oh, I was on that team! I'm from Minnesota so I was so excited to play in my home state!" I mentioned that I remembered that a couple years later, Jade Vorster transferred from Hawaii. My coworker overlapped with Jade by one season and had only nice things to say about Jade, that she was a great teammate and a good friend. Anyway - not often I see Vorster's name these days so while it's nothing earth shattering about Vorster, I thought I'd share the random story.

I thought she transferred to Norte Dame to be closer to her sister who was at ND at that time?

Jade was fun to watch. Not the most powerful but her infectious smile and attitude was so fun to see.
Such a different era back then it feels like. I miss seeing them play

Is Hawaii having a difficult time looking for teams to play and not finalized with players that are coming in andmight be going out, and this is the reason for schedule and roster ? Or is it NOYB type schedule were no one can scout them too early? I just maha oi.

I guess they're still working on it since the beginning of the Hawaii schedule seems locked per Marquette.

I know this does not pertain to Volleyball, but long time Sportscaster and Rainbow Warrior Football announcer Robert Kekaula passed away today. My Prayers and Condolences to his family.

Looking through the BW sites, only UCSD has a fall 2021 schedule up, and it has a few non-conf TBAs still. UCSD might have a fall 2021 roster up, hard to tell.
None of the others have a roster or schedule up for fall 2021. Some did away with all their previous schedules as well. So, no past or future shown; interesting.

I think what is holding up the schedule is whether UH will be able to admit fans in August. If fans are allowed, I think UH will put on 2 tournaments. I don’t think many corporation will want to sponsor a volleyball tournament with no fans in the stand.
With UH playing 20 conference matches, they only need 8 out of conference matches. 2 tournaments will give UH 6 matches. The other two, they can go on the road or maybe play Hilo/Chaminade/HPU at home. It will be tough to bring in teams to just play 2 matches. Teams want to come here for tournaments since it will be a test run for post season play. Someone mentioned Marquette, TAMU and Fairfield are scheduled to play in one tournament.
If the Hawaii GOV was to announce that all restrictions have been lifted sooner than later and UH can admit fans, you will see season tickets go on sale and schedule will be quickly finalized. I’m sure AD Dave Matlin is in Governor’s ear.

I would have figured by now Hawaii should be fairly in the green considering how low infections were in the first place? Places are starting to open up completely in the mainland and pretty much all the B1G schools have announced they will have full capacity for Fall games.

He is one of them guys who will wait for other states to do their stuff and then follow them. The Lt Gov wants to open. The mayor of Honolulu wants to open. Most folks on Oahu want to open. Unfortunately, our gov has the last word. There is hope on the horizon though. He has stated that if trend of low case count continues and our fully vaccinated rate reaches over 60%, he may drop all restrictions. That will probably be in July so Hawaii will be one month behind everybody else. Hopefully, the embarrassment of being the last to open will push him to open sooner. One can only hope.
