Yikes... What happened here. Anywho, excited for Caylen Alexander, another player with loads of potential. Looks like she's 5'11 and primarily an outside. I know the returning players and the incoming recruits will factor in, but Johnson and Alexander would be really fun to watch develop. Athletic, high jumpers, and a whip of an arm.

All supportive comments and then there’s this 🙄…. anyways, She looks like a great get. Dynamic, Quick Armswing, Great Vertical which will only get better! And if Coach Rob offered her, it’s because she was excited for the chance to play for UH, THAT’S the most important thing. Can’t wait to see what she brings to the program! Not saying she’s not a great get. UH could have done better. Unpopular opinion but they might have done better by holding the scholarship for a talented transfer. There will be plenty of transfers out there. I’m not sure what’s offensive about this. Calm down. Practicesafesets said multiple times she’s good. Is she a Top 10 recruit? Nope. Is she as good as Hawaii’s recent transfers? Also nope. Can she be really good? Sure. Is the Hawaii staff doing a good job? Yep.

I’m certain the UH coaches have been pursuing Devin since she started at Kamehameha. If 3 years is not enough to make a decision, I think it’s time to move on. It can be frustrating when you put time and effort trying convince someone that your program is the one for that player and that player repeatedly don’t think so.
For some coaches, nobody is worth the headaches. There are lot of talented players out there that can be just as impactful as that the one you pursuing but may take a little longer or need more polishing.
In 2 seasons, if Alexander can turn into an Amber Igiede, we would have gotten a steal and fans will forget about who we lost.

Bows are on the road for the second weekend of the season heading to Utah. Tournament also includes San Diego and Cal Poly (do not know if we will play them, if so it is non-conference match). I know that weekend UH football plays at home on the Saturday and now that they play on campus they probably looked to avoid any conflict and tried to go elsewhere. utahutes.com/sports/womens-volleyball/scheduleAlso looks like the Hawaii-UCLA non-conference rivalry is ending. Not listed on UCLA schedule.

So we might not have a stadium for a few more years. Not having as many Wahine Home Volleyball games is going to suck.

It sucks but considering there was no volleyball last season, we’ll take it.

Also looks like the Hawaii-UCLA non-conference rivalry is ending. Not listed on UCLA schedule. So... let's switch it to an annual USC-Hawaii rivalry... you down?

The only time the Wahine maybe playing at home on back to back weekends would be the 2nd and 3rd weekends of October. This is when the Football team has a Bye followed by an Away Game.

It will be interesting, come the month of November, now that the Football team plays it's games on campus, when it comes to scheduling. November is the month when both the Men's and Women's Basketball teams start their seasons, respectively. November will be a very busy month at the Lower Campus, be it with Football games, Volleyball matches, and Basketball games.

I don’t see anything special about UCLA. I wouldn’t mind if we play the other PAC 12 teams a little more. Maybe more of Stanford, Utah, UW, ASU and Cal. The reason I want to see more of these teams because it will give me an excuse to go there. ;-) I have relatives and friends in all those places and what better trip then to see families and watch good volleyball.

So we might not have a stadium for a few more years. Not having as many Wahine Home Volleyball games is going to suck. I think : AD Matlin mentioned that on an interview. The other option(probably not a good one) is to play the matches on weekdays. If there is a football game on Saturday, UH volleyball can be played on Fridays and Sundays. When basketball season comes, Volleyball may need to play Wednesdays or Sundays. Another option is to play basketball/volleyball doubleheader. Football have definitely complicated things. In the future, I hope UH can work something out where both sports can be played on a Saturday. One of the sports can play at noon, clean out the arena/stadium and parking lot and then let the fans of the other sport come in.
