Don’t know how many open scholarship UH have though. BVS, Jolie and Skyler coming back would not affect the scholarship situation. I read they need other forms of financial aid and cannot be on volleyball indoor scholarship.
Lang Byrd Wagoner Akana Westerberg Kiraly Igiede Glagau Mia Johnson Annika DeGoede Martyna Leoniak That’s 11 there so one to give. If Glagau chooses not to play indoor, then 2 to give. They can be on a volleyball indoor scholarship if Robyn wants them to be. They don't count against the 12. But many schools will only pay for 12.

Highly doubt Akana will transfer. She really likes Nebraska I would bet money that she doesn’t leave, but with the libero recruit the have coming in next year, and knuckles still having eligibility, I guess it’s possible? But I would bet money she stays At Nebraska Akana is killing it at Nebraska. I'd say there's a better chance Knuckles transfers before Akana does. Cook will find a way to get her onto the court, she's just too good. We do need a libero transfer as insurance. I'll hold onto the delusion that maybe Ogilvie hates Stanford for some reason. Or Nalani Iosia wants to play all around with O'Brien likely to come back next season. |

But I'm not sure what it means, either. It's extra $$ but the school can pay for it. It could come out of a different pot (or the same one).
I think all the regular rules still apply so, e.g, a booster couldn't pay an athlete. At least I haven't seen anything about those normal rules not applying. Do you have a link or cite for the money having to come from other means?

Because the main thing this upcoming fall team needs is a proven, high level Libero and no one is sure if that’s going to be someone on the team currently or if UH brings one in. All of those lofty dreams had merit and ties to the islands but sometimes it’s the ones who come from where you wouldn’t expect that really make an impact (Ali Longo) |

Was going to say that Minnesota and Kentucky have some nice potential transfers.
Senior grad transfers may need to do an indoor/beach deal to cover 2 years of grad school. I hope this means Hawaii gets some well-rounded transfers. Didn't Holly Carlton want to play beach for Hawaii?
As for that potential Libero, K. Akana seems likely. Nebraska is too loaded. People forget about Falanika Danielson too. Nalani and Elena will probably stay put. Hoping they consider Hawaii for grad transfer.

For the record, koavball mentioned Hawaii might get a libero transfer and that a highly rated '22 recruit de-committed from and that Hawaii is in the mix. These are the only two potential recruits that have been mentioned.
We shall see!

I'm just glad we don't have to wait the usual 8 months to see some more indoor volleyball after this season. Glad we only have to wait about 3-4 months now.
